A couple close early games so far:

Villanova leads DePaul 29-25 at halftime

Providence leads Seton Hall 33-30 with 4:04 to go in the half. Edited to add - Seton Hall leads 38-33 at the half.

The no offense Marquette team is back Sad - they look really bad so far and are down 13-7 at Georgetown at the end of the first quarter.

Villanova leads DePaul 50-45 with 8 minutes to go in the game.

Seton Hall is up 52-49 with 4 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter.

Marquette woke up a bit in the 2nd quarter and it's tied in DC at the half at 32.

DePaul-Villanova is tied at 55 at the end of regulation.

St. John's leads Creighton 31-22 at the half.

And Seton Hall leads Providence 69-66 with 3 minutes to go in the game.

Marquette leads by 3 after 3. They are far and away the best team in the conference. DePaul is probably 2nd, beating Villanova in OT today and should make the NCAA, but I'm not sure anyone else will.

Davenport just fouled out with 3:30 to go Sad. GT about to tie it here. I don't have a good feeling about this one. Don't forget about Butler in the BE.

A little bit of a crazy ending in the Creighton-St. John's game but Creighton holds on to win 65-63.

Marquette escapes and wins 72-62 at Georgetown. They are now tied with Butler for first place in the BE at 5-0 - MU hosts Seton Hall and St. John's and Butler goes to Providence and Creighton next weekend. Marquette will travel to Butler on Sun. Jan. 27th.

It looks like Blockton isn't wearing the boot anymore - maybe we'll see her again next weekend. Looks like Natisha Hiedeman has set herself up to be a contender for BE POY - Blockton has missed too many games to be able to repeat as POY.

I thought Nova was going to win their game but DePaul held on and held on and finally won in OT

Yeah I was checking the stats on that one periodically while I was watching the MU game and thought Villanova was going to prevail. But then I saw it went to OT and DePaul pretty much controlled that. Two big ones on the road this weekend for DePaul as they improve to 3-2 in BE play after starting 1-2 - they are tied with Seton Hall - both of them chasing 5-0 Butler and Marquette.
