Halftime 35-34 Maryland. Michigan’s defense has caused 13 turnovers and scored 12 off of them.

Fun game to watch at college park. Back and forth for most of it.
Terps up 53 52 after 3.

Maryland leads 53-52 at the end of 3Q.
Michigan is in their third nail-biter in a row. They lost at Purdue by 1, then beat Northwestern by 1 in OT in Ann Arbor.

It is amazing how far the Atlantic 10 has fallen. Dayton lost to George Washington today, blowing a 7 point lead after 3 quarters. The winner of the A10 may only get a 15 seed in the NCAA tourney.
Tomorrow's game between Fordham and St Louis may be the biggest game of the season. St Louis has been playing very well of late since they inserted freshman Brooke Flowers into the starting lineup. The game is on CBSSports cable at 4pm Eastern. I will be watching.

The first three minutes of the 4th quarter made the difference. Maryland wins 83-69. Thome led with 25/10, but Maryland have 5 in double figures with very balanced scoring.

Seattle seemed like they might be on their way to their first win of the season, up 10 midway through the third quarter. Unfortunately Utah Valley outscored the Redhawks 17-3 the rest of the quarter so they go to the 4th down 4, 49-45.

Maci Morris-less Kentucky lodes 55-49 to Ole Miss at home. Morris out due to illness.
Clemson upsets Florida State 57-45.

Losing to Georgia today, Tennessee has now lost three games is a row for the first time in 33 years.
Westbrook is really good, but almost everything she did in the crunch fourth quarter was individual shot creation. Teamwork . . . where art thou? |

JMU welcomed Hofstra to the Convo Center Friday night for what was supposed to be a basketball game but most of the time looked more like a floor fight. Hofstra is really chippy this year, especially one of the Finnish players and Ms. Brozoski. At one point there was a collision between Brozoski and our Logan Reynolds across the court from where we sit that you could literally hear where we sit. Nothing was called. Logan was slow to get up but she shook it off. Anyway, JMU won, 77-54, and again, the back bench played much of the 4Q.
Today Northeastern, which had been undefeated until they encountered Towson Friday night, came calling. I'd have expected them to be ticked off and spoiling for a fight. Instead, they were rather meek. JMU rolled over them, 84-49. The Dukes finally seem to have figured out how to subdue their 3-point threat, Jess Genco.

Cal at ASU was a barnburner. ASU won in the final seconds 62-61. I thought ASU got away with mugging Anigwe pretty much the whole game. She went to the line a LOT (11-12) but could have been there about double that, which should have fouled out ASU's posts. JMO. At any rate, Anigwe simply doesn't have enough support for them to be a top, top team. I feel kinda sorry for her (except when they play us). She takes it like a trouper though.

Wake Forest didn't score against Notre Dame today until there was 2:10 left in the first Q. A loooong 3 made the score 18-3.
ND led 37-15 at the half, 62-28 after 3 Qs, and won 78-48.
The bench got lots of minutes. Ogunbowale and Young only scored 4 pts each.
