I watch and read about college women's basketball, volleyball, some gymnastics and the softball world series. And the WNBA. I don't recall ever reading or hearing someone focus on femininity and attractiveness, not athleticism - let alone seeing it often. That is with regard to sports coverage, as opposed to TMZ (Gonzalez twins) or some other non-sports outlet reporting non-game info about an athlete. I would like to see some examples from the "number of studies" to back up that seemingly bogus claim.

I agree ...

And one other point that didn't get made: Improve the product (regardless of the sport). The article focused on what everyone else can do, rather than what those inside women's sports can do.

I really can only speak to basketball, but there are things that could be done that would make women's basketball more attractive to more fans, and that should be part of the equation. (I'm not sure what could be done with softball, say, or skiing, or if there's anything, but presumably there's always room for improvement ...)
