It's possible they could write something into the next agreement to do something like that, but I don't think it's something they can do under the current agreement. You get what you're getting. It may suggest that Fowles's agent doesn't expect base salaries to go up that much in the next CBA (it could be some kind of separate bonus system that allows stars to earn significantly more).

Maybe the "stay at home bonus" is flexible enough to fix a lot of these kinds of things. They just need to make it bigger. As I recall, teams were allowed to use it as they saw fit.
