Why?

Probably because of the just release A.Clark sex tape.

Some fool violated Clark by releasing intimate footage of the two having sex....Clark should've been smarter. She knew the guy was taping her.

Oh dear. I knew she had some leaked selfies out there but I hadn't heard about a video.

Yeah, short video...less than two minutes.

This should absolutely not be the reason. I agree they need insurance for Clark and honestly, someone she can mentor to be a better her...hence my girl Howard 😁

Yeah, had to go back and edit my post. A suspension would be unfair to Alysha. She didn't do anything wrong.

The language of the CBA is vague enough so that a player could probably be disciplined just for embarrassing the league or their team:

Quote:
ARTICLE XIV PLAYER CONDUCT AND DISCIPLINE
Section 1. Player Obligations.

Players shall at all times conform their conduct to standards of good citizenship, good moral character, and good sportsmanship and shall not do anything detrimental or prejudicial to the best interests of the WNBA, their Teams, or the sport of basketball. Without limiting the foregoing, players shall also be required at all times to comply with all terms and provisions of this Agreement; to perform all services required under their Standard Player Contracts or any WNBA or Team Marketing and Promotional Agreements; to comply at all times with all applicable federal, state, and local laws; to be neatly attired and present a professional appearance when in public (including all player appearances, travel days, and travel to and from the arena); and to follow all reasonable rules and regulations of the WNBA and their Teams promulgated in accordance with this Agreement.
Section 2. Player Discipline.
(a) In addition to any other rights it has under this Agreement and the Standard Player Contract, the WNBA and/or a Team may impose reasonable discipline on a player for any act or omission that fails to conform to the requirements set forth in Section 1 above. Such discipline may include reasonable fines and/or suspensions.

In addition, teams may have their own rules. I know a lot of regular companies have policies regarding the use of social media. This situation with Clark would have blown up by now if it were a player in one of the male leagues. Instead, so far it's been mostly a non-event. There are just a handful of hits when you Google it. I checked Clark's Twitter account and she's tweeting about all kinds of stuff but not this. Ironically, the WNBA's low profile, which we complain about all the time, is probably saving it. Therefore, it would actually benefit the league to not discipline her and draw attention to the situation. Maybe they're hoping it will go away, although that's unlikely as long as the material is on the internet. They would have to find a way to remove it and keep it removed.

Agree with the low profile comments. Seems like any punishment would be victimizing the victim.

Now the interesting question is had this happened in the case of NBA (or did it already?) would there be (or were there) repercussions?

Something similar happened to Greg Oden. I don't think he was suspended.

Draymond Green wasn’t that long ago. I remember the Spurs getting involved in helping George Hill remove his nudes from some site.

I put an article recently in the Liberty thread about Charles. She talks about returning this season to the Liberty and playing with the rookies and the two games in Brooklyn. Why she isn't re-signed by now is a mystery, but everything seems to appear like she's returning.

Cambage also cried on national TV after a playoff loss and stated she wanted to come back to Dallas and win a championship with those group of girls and you see how that's playing out ....

Liz did her crying in August. The article Toad is referring to came out yesterday. That's an eight-month difference in timing. Besides, no one else in women's basketball is as full of shit as Cambage. And I say that as a fan. Laughing

with the great communication put out from the W, she might have signed months ago and everybody just 'forgot' to report it.
