Final score doesn't show how close this was. Ionescu ( I know that is spelled wrong. I am sorry.) Was the difference. When SDSU tied it late, she basically said no way, and went OFF.

We had no answer.

Don't think being ranked is the key, being respected enough to get an at large should they stumble in the SL tourney IS. USD is very good this year, also. Both have deserved bids in the last couple years but the loser of the tournament has been sent to the WNIT.

I don't think Marquette would win by 39 but I think they'd win again. The margin of victory in that one was a big surprise to me. I brought it up tonight as a positive for MU - wasn't trying to rub it in the face of anyone.

Non-conference performance seems to play a huge role in teams making it in & seeding. I think South Dakota (with their win over Iowa St, assuming Iowa St is an NCAA Tournament team this season) & South Dakota St are in good shape.
South Dakota had too many "bad" losses in non-conference last season weighing them down. I'm guessing South Dakota St missed out the year before because Macy Miller being out for the season when she was a part of their key non-conference wins (and the team "stumbling" a bit at the end of their conference season) left them out.
