Is Hillsman going full blown Paul Westhead this year? The Orange has taken too many quick, shitty 3s, imo.

Not just that, their half court D is terrible. Don't think they have ever done a shell drill.

I thought Oregon handled the press fairly well actually. They just made a couple of stupid mistakes. Not so difficult to remedy. It's good for them to see a fairly decent press this early in the season. It'll help them later on.

Inside size is a bit of a problem for them. I think Giomi may help if/when she comes back from injury. But McGwire's defection really hurt them.

Chavez shows some promise. And Gildon is solid as a backup.

Boley came out gangbusters with two made threes. Then proceeded to miss the next six. hmmm.

And Mangakahia didn't really look like 'all that' so far.

They cannot handle pressure and it is not really that much pressure.

TBH it is hard to see them as a top 5 team or top 5 players.

I didn't anticipate this close a score, tbh.

Imo, Oregon should be better than they've shown.

Some home cooking by the refs, a flop by Ionescu then that foul should have been on Hebard

Btw, Cuse leaving Ionescu wide open for consecutive 3s sort of the main thing you're trying not to do there. Laughing

At least Mangakahia showed her stuff in the second half. Oregon seemed to decide to just let her waltz to the rim... or perhaps they just don't have a one on one defender that can handle it. They should have started doing that earlier and would have won.

Didn't get to watch ALL of it, but--again--the quality of the stream was a treat, for me. Hopefully, this will continue.

The first 12 min or so, I thought, "This is lookin' like a typical 3/18 matchup". Then Syracuse woke up.

In what I DID see, I thought there was some fine display of individual talents. The boxscore had some real head-scratching discrepancies:
3s made: Syr = 5, OR = 11
FTs made: Syr = 6, OR = 18
Reb: Syr = 45, OR = 36

....they just don't resemble stats from most 2-pt victories I've seen lately. Laughing

Great Team Play was patchy, in what I saw, but Kudos to Q for making it a close game, and to OR for not folding in the crunch.

I could tell she was good in warmups the other day. Then when she played, my eyes were just drawn to her the entire time. When she figures out college, I think she will be ACC POY and an All-American
