Freshman Jordan Nixon will reportedly start at point guard for ND while Mabry heals for a couple weeks (MRI was fine, injury not serious).
Harvard's 6-3 junior Jeannie Boehm was a member of the USA Basketball 2016 FIBA Americas U18 Championship and 2017 FIBA U19 World Cup teams.
It's a homecoming game for a couple of Harvard players. Senior captain Madeline Raster is from South Bend, while Boehm is from the Chicago suburbs.

Harvard will turn around and play at Purdue on Sunday at 2 pm.
As an aside, I was looking at Harvard's schedule. They only play 2 games in the month of January. They play the 19th and then the 26th, both against Dartmouth.

17-9 ND leads after 5 and a half minutes.
3 ball keeping Harvard in the game.
This ND team can really score. From everywhere. Transition. Low post. Young nailed a 3.
Tough to stop everybody. And that's with Mabry out.

Halfway through the 2nd Q, ND opens up a 37-15 lead. Muffet probably happier with the defense

Too many turnovers, too many missed bunnies, Harvard hitting half their 3 pt attempts.
But ND leads 50-29 at the half.
Nixon, Prohaska, and Gilbert have all played. Vaughn has played a lot.

90 seconds into the 2nd half and ND has gone on a 10-0 run fueled by defense, blocked shots, and fast breaks. Timeout Harvard. 60-29.

Muffet definitely emptied the bench, but not every player entered the game. We knew coming in that Mabrey and Patterson would not play as both were nursing injuries (that were not considered very serious. But Cosgrove never entered the game either, never taking off her warm-ups. As Muffet played the walk-ons pretty extensively (10 minutes for Butler, 4 minutes for Benz), it's likely that Cosgrove was not cleared to play either. As for Benz, she must have been added to the team after Cole's season ending injury in practice a few weeks ago.
I agree with you, Art, that there were far too many turnovers. The game plan included running a lot, but some of the turnovers were just sloppy. Nixon did OK, but she had only 3 assists to 6 TO, not a good ratio for a PG. Of course this is her first college game and she was forced to start, so I'm OK with that. She would have had more assists if Harvard hadn't foul so often inside, preventing layups and thus negating assists.
Lots of minutes for bench players in this game, especially because a starter didn't play. The 4 remaining starters logged between 21-27 minutes each, for a total of 100 minutes, leaving 100 minutes for the bench (29 for Nixon).

Finally got around to watching this game. Nixon showed some jitters, but you can tell she is a pass first point guard and she will be another good pg for Muffett. Any questions about whether Shepherd and Turner being able to coexist together should be erased. Arike looks in mid-season form. You can tell Jackie Young defers a lot, but I think she's actually the most talented player for the Irish. This team can put up 80+ points without breaking a sweat, but for Muffett it's going to be how well they can defend.

Agree that Turner and Shep played very well together. Nixon has room to grow, let's leave it at that, although she did OK for her first game. When Marina comes back, Nixon's minutes will decrease, although plans to develop Jordan this season. She could certainly help out against presses and provide depth in case of foul trouble.
Also agree that Young is uber-talented, but really defers her offense to the other starters. Arike is a fearless driver and played very well on fast breaks. She also tied for the team lead in assists with 5.
