White House invitation for Team USA? Staley had originally said USC would accept an invite after winning the NCAA.

No, no, it was clearly a rigged vote that took votes away from CARPRÉAUX. Seriously though, I get that forwards are important -- but I'm sad that Allemand didn't get any recognition. She was outstanding.

I think she was hoping for the opportunity to turn him down.

That would require him to acknowledge the achievements of a group of women.

Maybe she will get a training camp invite from the indiana fever next wnba season. Would be great for her

As long as pompous Lord "The Apostate" Nobody stays on that stinky

little island we will be fine out here in 'murica. BTW, when will your

stinky little island develop teams that qualify for the Olympic Basketball

Competition and FIBA's Men's/Women's World Cup of Basketball? Will it

happen in 25 years, 50 years, or sometime maybe never?

So happy to see Griner win for player of the finals. She has so many haters on this board.

I won't know what to do with myself for 7 months until the wnba is back on. I have enjoyed most of the season even though the team I wanted to win the Championship didn't(for the regular season).

Have a good off year!

Congrats team USA!!!

NCAAW starts in December usually. Two month gap. WNBA off-season tends to be quiet, nothing until January usually.

WNBA season doesn't start until May usually.

Ndour was a pretty giant reach as well. A post averaging 4 rebounds a game for the tournament. I'd probably have thrown in Xargay if they were desperate for a Spaniard, but they were balanced enough that no one really jumped out for the tournament five.

Cambage, Meesseman and Stewart were easy, and I'd have had Allemand in as the fourth (although K.Mestdagh had an argument as well). The fifth could've been any of a list.

In regards to news. Schedule tends to be released by end of January. Free agency starts in February.

Well, tonight showed that had we played our best, we really could have challenged the USA, as they have proven capable this tournament of putting together some pretty uninspiring basketball. But whoa, the Opals have proven capable of stinking it up significantly worse.

Overall though, stoked to get the silver. I felt going into the tournament that a medal was far from a certainty for us. There are plenty of teams now competing for the #2 spot in the world, so I'm happy to have it for now.
And looking ahead … with Liz being the temperamental character that she is, who could just randomly decide at any moment that she'll do something else besides basketball, I feel like the way that her offense abandoned her tonight will provide a good amount of fire for the next Opals campaign.

Congrats to the USA of course. Way too good tonight.

Dear "Luuuc"

You do realize that Team USA had a MAJOR overhaul in their

roster, Team USA did NOT play particularly well in this tournament

and we STILL won a World Title. When is the last time the Opals had

as major an overhaul in their roster like Team USA for this Tourna-

ment and STILL won a World Title? That's right, your Opals have

exactly ONE fluke title.

Luuuc, why do Australian basketball players run their mouths? Ex-

amples, Tolo said the Opals would win the 2016 Rio Olympic Gold Medal in

Basketball. Patty Mills said the Boomers would win the 2016 Rio Olympic

Gold Medal in Basketball. Lauren Jackson said the Americans could NOT

stop Liz Cambage and would win the 2018 FIBA Women's World Cup of

Basketball.

The only problem I see brewing is when play Stewart and Delle Donne together. They both play on the wing but cant guard wing players. They both do well guarding the 4 so does Aja .Who is going to guard the 5 with that lineup.

Ok Luuc, now that Queenie has retired, it's time to do your magic. Or get jammer to do it for you.
