I wouldn't necessarily bet money that USA will have the lead when the first subs come in.

Spain has GIFTED a game plan to the U.S. Coaching staff. Spain held the
Kangaroo Riders to 72 points with an understaffed front line. Team USA
should use Morgan Tuck & Nneka Ogwumike as sacrificial lambs the way
that Spain used Laura Nicholls 5 fouls, Astou Ndour 5 fouls, & Laura Gil 4
fouls. Even if Tuck & Ogwumike foul out, we will still have A’ja Wilson &
Tina Charles to back up Breanna Stewart, Elena Delle Donne & Brittney
Griner. Now it is obvious that USAB should brought Elizabeth Williams
instead of Morgan Tuck.

Ndour was hardly a sacrificial lamb for Spain. Astou hitting 3 for 3 from deep and blocking 4 shots was the X-factor that allowed her team to hang with Australia. When she fouled out is when things fell apart for Spain. Dawn Staley has basically used the same starters for the whole tournament with injury being the only mitigating factor. Like it or not, I expect her to start Griner, Stewart, Charles, Taurasi, and Bird.
Belgium was able to stay with the USA because they shot the ball well from outside for the first 25 minutes or so. Australia struggled to make outside shots against Spain, so that's where they really need to raise their game. Sammie Whitcomb is 2-11 from deep and 4-17 overall in her last two games. Australia needs her or Allen or somebody to get hot from outside if they're going to have a chance. I doubt Cambage gets 30 against Griner, and with all the good, athletic bigs that the US has swarming the paint, it will be a challenge for Liz to stay out of foul trouble. Normally, you would expect the crowd to root for the underdog, but after Liz's antics yesterday you might have the Spanish fans cheering for the USA. That will be another interesting situation to watch.

Nneka Ogwumike - SF, Breanna Stewart - F, Morgan Tuck - SF, &
A’ja Wilson - PF]
The Kangaroo Riders are a one trick pony. Team USA should use Mor-
gan Tuck & Nneka Ogwumike to bump & grind and beat up on Liz. Mor-
gan Tuck is especially well suited to this assignment with her line-
backer build.
Force The Kangaroo Riders' other players to TRY & beat Team USA.
Team USA's front line is the key. The better they play, the less the
guards will have to do. The ideal is that Team USA has enough of a
lead that the guards only have to produce assists and not turn the
ball over. We need to run as much as possible and suck the air out
of Liz's lungs. If Team USA has a 20 point lead by the end of the
fourth qtr. They should go to a half court offense with:
1. Diana Taurasi SG - Float
2. Breanna Stewart SF - Occupy the largest dead space area to draw
out a defender
3. Elena Delle Donne F - Right High Post
4. A’ja Wilson PF - Left High Post
5. Brittney Griner C - Right Low Post
This lineup gives you three perimeter shooters & two post players with
a mid-range shot. Walk the ball down the court & kill the clock. Make
them desperate and rush their offense. They will make mistakes.
First Rotation
1. Sue Bird PG
2. Diana Taurasi SG
3. Breanna Stewart SF
4. Elena Delle Donne F
5. Brittney Griner C
The second rotation will have the sole task of protecting the lead.
Second Rotation
1. Kelsey Plum G
2. Jewel Lloyd SG
3. Morgan Tuck SF
4. A’ja Wilson PF
5. Tina Charles C
Second Rotation Bench
1. Layshia Clarendon
4. Nneka Ogwumike

Curious if Griner can stay out of foul trouble vs. Cambage. She wasn't that successful during the WNBA season.

Unlike the regular season, Griner will have backup:
Tina Charles C
Elena Delle Donne F
Brittney Griner C
Nneka Ogwumike SF
Breanna Stewart F
Morgan Tuck SF
A’ja Wilson PF

Here’s hoping 🇦🇺 Destroys 🇺🇸 today. It’s doubtful, but it would be awesome if it happens.

Just like the Kangaroo Riders did in the 2018 FIBA U17 Boys & Girls Tournaments?

Forget star power. Cayla George is the second most important player on the Opals. At both ends, she will be matched against the likes of Charles, Wilson, and Neka (even worse should Stew or DelaD move back to their natural positions). I say good luck to that.

BTW "canadaball", are you shocked that Team Canada pulled a Canada
and COLLAPSED when the money was on the table?

How Cayla George and Steph Talbot do will have a big impact on this game. They'll both need to play well and draw defenders away from Liz. If the Aussies get going from outside, the USA could be in trouble -- but the Aussies can't just go for the outside shot, they need to make sure their inside game is working.

Allen, Talbot, George, whitcomb and O'Hea all need to hit their outside shots to keep the usa defense honest.
Opals need to hit around 10 3's if they want a chance at winning this one

CORRECTION
The Opals need to hit around 2x - 3x as many 3's as Team USA
if they want a chance at winning this one
