Apparently this game will be broadcast on ESPNU, but I’m confused on the start time.
At the moment the official FIBA site shows the game starting at 6:30 AM ET.
ESPN scheduling shows it as follows (in CT):

Is the 2:00 PM ET game on ESPNU a rebroadcast of the 6:30 AM ET game?
I’m leaning towards that direction until there’s some clarification.

For the game against Nigeria.

This Nigeria game is a live scrimmage that should finalize Team USA’s

rotations for the QF, SF, & Final. The strength of this team is the front

court. Stewart, Wilson, Griner, & Delle Donne in that order. Charles is

a great backup for Griner. Ogwumike & Tuck as the small forwards.

Liz Cambage is the ONLY non-American player that would make the

Team USA roster.

I believe that this rotation will have the best chance of outscoring Liz

and the Aussies by 10 to 15 points.

First Rotation

1. Kelsey Plum PG 20 min
2. Diana Taurasi SG 20 min
3. Neka Ogwumike SF 20 min
4. A'ja Wilson PF 20 min
5. Brittney Griner C Must play 20 to as much as 30
minutes 5 to 8 min per qtr.

The second rotation will have the sole task of protecting the lead.

Second Rotation

1. Layshia Clarendon G 20 min
2. Jewel Lloyd SG Must play 20 to as much as 30 minutes
5 to 8 min per qtr.
3. Morgan Tuck SF 20 min
4. Breanna Stewart F 20 min
5. Tina Charles C 20 min

Benched until the QF game.

1. Sue Bird PG
4. Elena Delle Donne F

You do know that Nneka has barely played a second at the SF position so far right.. i doubt that is going to change..

And Loyd's been pretty worthless just in general.

All 12 US players warming up, by the way. Whether they'll all play is another question.

Wellll, the USA was looking interesting for a while but they finally got it together. They took the lead before the half and never looked back. The box score definitely doesn't tell you how tough Nigeria played them in the 1st half.

Side note: Loyd actually played some pretty good D in this game Smile

Next up? Belgium or France !

As always, good D IS the key. I would rather Team USA score 70 something

and win by thirty than Team USA score 100 and win by 10.

Note that the U.S. had 23 turnovers vs. Nigeria ... that's troubling, and a traditional weakness for the Americans in these competitions.

Nigeria will now play the France-Belgium loser. Doesn't really get easier. Might as well hand them 8th place now. Though their ranking show climb drastically now.

They had 14 in the first half. It was an absolute shambles. Fortunately for the US they fell into a ridiculously easy quarter-final matchup that they were going to struggle to lose even after showing up halfway through.

Just watched clips of the USA match. No way this team wins over Australia right now.

TO's are not a TRADITIONAL weakness of Team USA. It is a sign of in-

sufficient preparation. It takes practices & playing time to weld together a

12 member Team. Let ANY National Team limit themselves to the actual

HOURS of preparation Team USA usually has before an Olympics or FIBA

World Cup of Basketball and see how they look.

It is a BASKETBALL GAME, not a "match". This is NOT SOCCER.

Team USA will be fine. The Aussies are a one trick pony.

Did the baseline ref (and Ward/Lawson miss an obvious Nigerian player's out of bounds infraction?

You're not watching closely enough if you think Loyd has been "pretty worthless."

Being a slightly better defender than Taurasi or Plum ain't worth a whole hell of a lot. Or am I meant to be excited about the 30% shooting for 4pts per game?

For what it's worth, I'm watching the games from about 20ft away.

Can you please give us your observations about A'ja Wilson.

Why are you acting like nobody has heard of Wilson? You should take the time to read the forum a couple years back.

A'ja's great, just like we all saw all season in the WNBA. Can score in multiple ways, exceptional at getting herself fouled, athletic, etc etc. The defense is still very much a work-in-progress. She gets those highlight-reel timing blocks, but that's partly because of the sheer number of times smaller players go right by her. She's gonna catch some of them with her length, but plenty beat her as well.

Do you see ANY defensive improvement from her first GAME of the WNBA

season as opposed to today's game against Nigeria?
