Stewart couldn't even score on a post up against Senegal's tiniest player.

They ain't going away! Only an Elena Delle Donne 3 pointer at the buzzer saves the United States from trailing at the end of the first quarter! USA leads 18-17.

I'm very impressed by Senegal so far. In fact, I'm rooting for them.

18-17 USA end of first

4 pts:
Ogwumike, Charles, Wilson

3 pts:
Delle Donne, Plum

TRAORE with 5 pts

Lack of USA-level depth will probably eventually sink them.

the box score doesn't list fouls drawn but Wilson must have about 8!

I find it interesting when all five players on the floor are UCONN alum.

Only two. The rest of the whistles were on Senegal.

45-31 USA at the half

Senegal couldn't keep up that early energy on defense.

Wilson 7 pts, 0 reb, 1 ast
Charles 6 pts, 5 reb, 2 ast, 2 blk
Stewart 6 pts, 4 reb, 2 ast, 1 stl, 1 blk

Sarr 6 pts, 2 reb
Diarra (Sparks '17) 6 pts,2 reb, 1 stl

Senegal tends to celebrate big baskets and not get back on defense. Surprised

I meant fouls drawn ie. against Senegal trying to guard her.

Ha. I didn't read that all the way through. I read fouls, Wilson must have 8.

So Taurasi's the back-up PG or is Plum? Clarendon's the Kara Wolters of this year's team.
