My guess is that Caitlin Clark has the two Iowa schools still listed for the same reason Breanna Stewart always had Syracuse listed: geographical correctness and respect. It would be pretty hard to turn down an immediate starting position at Muffet's Guard University -- though maybe MGU should be downgraded a bit, now that Niele Ivey is departing.

On the other hand, A'ja Wilson always had South Carolina on her final lists.

Clark is probably more Wilson than Stewart in listing of her local schools because she actually has taken unofficial visits there and has them in her F3. Stewart announced during the winter of her junior year that was committing to UConn and had Duke and Penn St in her F3. Clark may still end up going to ND but I think her listening the her home state major schools is more than geographical lip service.

Well, Clark's interest in the state schools ended up being more than just lip service.

JMU got signed LOIs from their entire 2020 signing class today:

5'7" Guard Jamia Hazell (Southeast Raleigh HS)
5'6" Guard Bailey Williams (Cosby HS, Richmond)
6'0" Wing Peyton McDaniel (Twin Valley HS, Elverson PA)
6'2" Post Stephanie Ouderkirk (Spotswood HS)
6'3" Post Annalicia Goodman (Heritage HS, Newport News)

Hazell is on the ESPN Top 100. The interesting thing about Stephanie Ouderkirk is that she's still growing...both of her parents are over 6'2 and her brother (who plays baseball, not basketball, at WVU, is 6'9). Coach O has reloaded, which is a good thing, as we graduate 5 seniors this season, including all-time blocks leader Kayla Cooper-Williams, who's on the Lisa Leslie watchlist, and top scoring Kamiah Smalls.

I think you misunderstood. They are two players from Texas who have signed with Baylor.

Quote:
WACO, Texas -- Defending national champion Baylor has signed a pair of Texas high school teammates who are two of the nation's top recruits.

Irving MacArthur High standouts Hannah Gusters, a 6-foot-4 post, and Sarah Andrews, a 5-7 guard, signed Wednesday with the Lady Bears. Both prep seniors had previously committed verbally to No. 2 Baylor.

Maybe they fixed the article after you read it. Smile

Hotty Toddy!! Sure would be nice to see Ole Miss return to their winning ways like the Van Chancellor and Carol Ross days! (For those of you who don't know....Ole Miss made the first 14 NCAA tournaments, and Ross coached All-American Armintie Price to an Elite 8 round in 2007 - falling to eventual champ, Tennessee.) Very Happy

Super impressed that Nell Fortner had so much success out of the gates in recruiting - and on a very short timeline for the 2020 class.

You also know she has an "ace in the hole" in her Chief of Staff, the lovable veteran, Mickie DeMoss. I bet she still has that "it factor" with recruits and their families, despite most likely doing on-campus recruiting only at this point in her career.

It's very easy to like Nell and Mickie - very genuine, kind people. Sounds like they've created a young, diverse staff, too - that always helps. Very interested to see where Georgia Tech can go in the next few years.

Ohio signed Madi Mace, who will graduate high school this semester, and enroll at Ohio in January. A poster on the Ohio board wants to know if she would be eligible either to receive a scholarship or to play in NCAA games this season once she enrolls. Would the result change if she plays in high school games this year?

Fully allowed, but of course it does count as a year of eligibility and some people don't want to use that on half a season. Some players who enroll early redshirt the half season so they have four full to play. A few players from Australia/New Zealand have done it since the school year follows the calendar year there.

It's great to see elite players go to teams that UConn plays. I should be able to see her at UConn next year.

Maybe. But before HVL signed his "class was #12 Cochrane, an international player and a junior college player. If what you say is true then his recruiting would seem to me to be better than that. Even with HVL his 2020 class is ranked #16 by ESPN.

I'm pretty sure that was their ranking before Van Lith. There is no way a class with #12 and #8 is worse than 13 other classes (Louisville's class is listed as 14th, not 16th).

Look at Texas, who is ranked above them (13th):
#52, #96, and then 2 3-stars

Or look at 12th ranked Michigan: #35 and 3 3-stars

Or look at 11th ranked GTech: #31, #64, #66, #74

Or the 10th ranked class of Kentucky: #28, #89, and a 3-star

Louisville's class is clearly top 10 if you look at the other classes.
