What happened on August 7th?

That's when Angel McCoughtry got hurt

Ah. Yes, that did change things. Obvously you could also say EDD's knee injury changed these finals.

Sancho Lyttle has something she’d like to say about that...

The one top team that stayed healthy won. Sometimes it happens like that.

And sometimes injuries don't make a difference. Just ask ND.

Stewart: 25.7p(.510)/6.0r/3.7a/1.7s/0.0b +35
Howard: 18.7p(.697)/10.7r/2.0a/0.3s/1.7b +57

I would have given it to Howard.

You could. I would say that a healthy Atlanta would have beaten a healthy Washington, anyway.

Can't believe that people thought that this would be either a more entertaining or a more competitive series than Storm/Dream would have been.

Really this is the series for 2nd Best Team in the WNBA, since the Dream with Angel won the series with both of them.

Correction, we are the best team in the league. We would have beat the Dream with Angel. They played a lot of their games with the east conference losing teams. It was our year from the beginning to the end. Doesn’t matter if they beat us twice, both on their home court.

If there is any consolation at all (aside from the Mystics losing in 3) it's that Seattle fans don't get to see their ship come in on their home court. Razz

Like 2010 they’ll do that at the Key, I’m sure we’ll be there to greet them at the airport, and they have’ll confetti at the Key and we’ll have a chance to celebrate with them.

Nothing but respect for EDD for playing through her injury, and for not talking about it. She clearly wasn't 100% but battled.

Credit to Coach Hughes, who in his first year here put it together real quick. He wanted Howard, and Howard sure rewarded his faith in her. She was just ready every game to rebound and defend and take advantage of opportunities when they came. She, Clark, and Whitcomb are the type of gritty, unsung players that every team needs to contend for a title.

Stewie...man. She's just going to get better.

So when do we break ground on that statue of Sue?

Not on the road. Close it out at home if you want that.

You just might want to check the June 10 game score. But congrats anyway.

Sunday, June 10
Final W
Atlanta Dream 67
Seattle Storm 64
League Pass, JoeTV
KeyArena Seattle, WA

It looked very budget friendly (ie: cheap).

And to think they run ZERO plays for her lol. Maybe next year that will change, although it seemed to work out well this season Laughing

I thought her going to Seattle was gonna be a terrible move, glad to be wrong. She was big on the defensive end this series and throughout the playoffs. Two years behind Catch and two years behind Brunson has really paid off.

Tell you what, watching this series should be telling GMs that the model they should be looking for is tall, long players who can shoot from the outside, pass, make reads and switch on D. Teams find it really hard to play against switching man and cover those types of players. The Wallowing BIGS have become dinosaurs.

Maybe that narrative will be spread enough in the WBB media, that the wallowing two big dinosaurs in the upcoming draft stock will drop. Wink

Those two big dinosaurs WILL be lottery picks. PERIOD.
