99% zero activity for the Sun in free agency. The only thing they did was core Jasmine Thomas. So basically they are going to pretty much the exact same roster as last year. A team that does pretty well in the regular season but gets eliminated in the playoffs in their only one and done games the past two seasons in a row. Well, expect more of the same this season. Same team, same result, same disappointment to their fans. But what can they do since there are NO star players knocking down the doors trying to get into Uncasville. Sure the team makes a profit, but only because they own the arena they play in. But what good is that if no one wants to play there and they never ever win a championship? I’m a huge Sun fan who would rather see this team relocated in a big happenin’ city where players want to be. This upcoming season is going to be a snooze fest

Ay Mate,

Don't feel bad, we haven't done a damn thing either, except re-sign who we already had....I have been saying for awhile now, how desperate I am for us to have an aggressive, creative and resourceful GM, instead of one who continually stays at the bottom ranked GM' s list when the polls are taken!!!

The only thing the Sun could realistically do is make trades, but trade who, and seek what in return?

They didn’t sign Betnijah Laney. She went to Indiana. So they made a decision by not even signing her to a training camp contract.

I think she was better last year than some of the other Sun players we have.

The Sun signed someone too useless to bother naming to training camp instead of making sure to bring back Betnijah Laney and now, another boneheaded move, the Sun didn’t bother bringing back Kelsey Griffen. She is now with Minnesota. Meanwhile, the Sun will stutter through another season of horrible bench play from Banham & Tuck.

Griffin had her own choice where she signed. If she didn't want to sign in CT there was nothing they could do about it.

Laney is a player who has never averaged 3 points per game in a season, yet Banham and Tuck are the "horrible bench play"?

I guess I can understand Griffen not wanting to sign in CT as she wouldn’t get any minutes, which she most likely knew. Minnesota needs a player like Griffen more than the Sun anyways, but I always liked her gritty type play. Laney may not be a big time scorer but I thought she was fast, tough, a better than average defender. Banham can hit a couple 3’s in a game but she’s slow, can’t defend. Same for Tuck for the most part. Brown should be getting Banhams minutes. She’s a better player, or at least she would be if she got the chance.

Chiney Ogwumike for a LA 2020 first-round pick? Shocked

JJ goes to Center, AT starts at PF... guess the SF experiment is done, but just a 1st round pick?
Question

Couldn't they at least get back a player that's going to help them this season off the bench? Was there really no market for Chiney?

I'm SO HAPPY to be rid of Chiney, but wish they'd gotten a body, in addition to the pick in a shit draft.

Connecticut’s hand was forced in this trade. The options were: 1) Walk away and focus on ESPN career or 2) Trade to LA- In which the Sun received the 2020 first round pick.

There've been hints floating around for a while that she might quit the Sun in favour of her ESPN gig. I wasn't aware that 'ship me to LA' was an extra alternative. Kinda hilarious that Lavender is still in LA, because they probably would've happily thrown her into this deal if Connecticut wanted her.

I thought Chicago was the forced trade capital of the WNBA. Connecticut is definitely in the mix. Quite the “culture” Miller is brewing out there. So warm, so fuzzy, so many forced trades.
