Interesting that the league leader in steals is MIA from both lists

The league steals leader missed the All Defense teams in 2012 (Angel McCoughtry) and 2016 (Sancho Lyttle). Lyttle also received no DPOY votes, the first time that had happened to the league steals leader.

I'm very surprised Diamond DeShields didn't get a vote....But I guess there's only so many votes to go around.

The Sky being the worst defensive team in the league probably worked against her

Dissapointed Breland only got 2 votes. Seems pretty lazy to me .

Worst by some distance, too.
Would really like to see the defensive specialists get a bit more credit on the All-Defense teams. No Clark, no Thornton etc. These players get the toughest assignments night in and night out for a reason. |

Atkins, Brunson, Beard, Breland. What do these names all have in common?[/b]

OK, so DPOY is writers/broadcasters and All-Defensive Team is coaches. That explains the disparity.

Yeah i really think that Clark deserved to be atleast on the all defensive 2nd team this season. Snubbed big time. Better then Nneka, Brunson and Atkins

2012 was the year that McCoughtry had the blow-up with Meadors, and then McCoughtry got stripped of her captain status, and then Meadors got fired, right? IIRC, she got completely shut out from any post-season awards that year; snubbed because the voters held a grudge.

You didn't think they weren't going to give someone on the Sparks team an award did you.
