Wasn't Duke's Sofia Roma in the mix for one the spots for Puerto Rico? Or was she training for the FIBA World Cup?

Yes, I think she was part of the final cut from the provisional list to the final roster. They have three competitions this summer and they have made roster moves between so I think she is still in the conversation for the big tournament. Without access to all their possible post players, they have been scrambling a bit to figure out a solution. They somehow made it work last summer with Jones handling most of the minutes, but that's not really a long term plan.
No Bego Faz Davalos for Mexico either as they only carried 11 players. I thought that maybe she was on her way to be doing something else, but she appears to be trying to play professionally so her absence might be related to that goal. |

Would you want to see older players who could sign as free agents too? This year's tournament looks set to feature an unusually large number of 2019 draft eligible players. Magbegor is already confirmed, Li and Han seem to be locks, we have the likes of Laksa, Smith, and technically Fasoula in college, and people like Christinaki and Conde who used to be in college. |

Well, the older players who could sign as free agents would basically be everybody else, so you're creating quite a job for yourself there . Personally I'm most interested in the young prospects, but a summary of the stars who might one day make a WNBA appearance might be appreciated by readers as well.
I'm intrigued to see the Chinese youngsters up close, but I feel like there might be a fair bit of space around me in the stands for the morning Latvia-China game on the opening day... |
