And why is Zandalasini on the poll? She played like 20 minutes last year.

She's really the only Lynx that qualifies. Or I could have listed Fagbenle...

Why the need to have a Lynx at all? Not every team is represented in the poll.

Zandalasini has improved. LA, Phoenix and Atlanta don't have anyone that stands out as an "MIP" candidate.

She was non-existent last year. It really shouldn’t even count as a rookie year.

I can think of Riquna Williams, Talbot, and Hayes. Usually your serious MVP candidates aren’t included in the MIP race, but I don’t think Hayes is that serious of a MVP candidate.

IMS seems somewhat improved, but she doesn’t really get the minutes to show it.

Which is more than what Sanders played.

Or I vote to rename it the Most Increase in Playing Time award, at least for most of the years when it doesn't go to a 2nd year player who struggled as a rookie, since that seems to reflect who the award goes to more than its current name. Smile

Sanders also shouldn't be on the poll, yes. Might as well have Cambage as as candidate.

I do agree Cloud should be on this list , but it wouldn't really matter. Its Howards award.

Fire Reeve! because the only way Lynx players improve is by leaving her! Alexis Jones better hope she also gets traded for a wad of chewed gum so she can be an MIP frontrunner next year. Smile

Hard to understand how the most improved team in the league doesn't have anyone who can be considered for this award. Williams, Breland and Hayes all were quite improved over last season.

All three are past all-stars who weren't all-stars this year. Breland and Williams scored less this year than last, and Hayes scored a point more this year. There play on the court may be better, but they all have a history of success and none have the kind of improvement in statistics that wins this award.

None will get any votes.

You can improve by improving your roster even if the players don't get better. Dream added Angel, Breland, Montgomery, Bentley and Billing along with a new coach.

As pilight has said over the years, MIP basically says, "Last year, you sucked; this year, you did not suck nearly as much."

...which is why I voted for McBride, who made great strides (especially in shooting) overall that were not the benefit of increased minutes.

Not sure why this is still being debated. Howard won the AP version, and I don’t there’s much difference in the league version. Who votes for the award?
