Why does Pokey still have hers? Indy must be too focused on the e-League (or whatever they call it) to worry about the WNBA. |
Maybe Borders leaned on them to keep her. It would look bad if all the black coaches got fired and none of the white ones. |
What about the quick firing of women coaches compared to men?
Is that something you can demonstrate graphically? |
In response to women coaches. Opinion: Minnesota, Phoenix, and Atlanta all have very good women coaches

Indiana is going through an obvious multi-year rebuild so Pokey must've been given a longer time-period before the team is expected to contend again (trust the process?).

Stocks would still have her job if Delle Donne hadn’t demanded a trade before she coached a game. And she’d probably be still there if Breland didn’t leave in free agency. Stocks may have figured in Breland’s decision. It also didn’t help that Quigley and Vandersloot played in leagues that had them missing the start of the season each year. It could also be that Stocks didn’t click with her boss.

Now that Stocks is gone whoever will be the new head coach will have their own perspective on what the Sky needs to improve as a team. So everyone can throw their favorite college players back into the recycle bin and start over. The new coach will think outside the box and do something different and unexpected.

Stocks wouldn't have ever had the job if Delle Donne wasn't planning on demanding a trade.

Wikipedia lists Beyonce’s father and a former member of Destiny’s Child as Sky co-owners.

So is this owner going to be the new head coach?

With Amber's release, it's time for Penny & brian to swoop in scoop up Diamond.

I should have said that I was wondering how much input they had in a black coach getting a short stint.

Fowles left during the Pokey administration and Delle Donne left at the same time the Stocks administration started. Stocks shouldn’t take the heat for either of those.
Now if you want to blame her for getting the lottery pick that led to DeShields acquisition by trading away McGee-Stafford and Tamera Young, then go ahead. |
Not what I was saying.
Was pointing out that Chicago cannot afford another situation like that - Fowles and Delle Donne.

Even an experienced coach like Thibault knows the odds of rebuilding a team very quickly are very low. That’s why he made a long term commitment a condition of his employment.

“I needed to know from them that there was a commitment going forward that this was gonna be a long-term commitment on both sides . . . that they want this to be a successful franchise,” Thibault said. |

Chicago needs a good coach that looks forward ten years, not one or two years in the future.
I feel for the people on this board that live in Chicago and the people that live in Chicago. They deserve a good team. I hope it happens very, very soon.
