Cierra Dillard is a pretty good phone interview.

I think these junior season season highlights show she could be developed as a scoring PG. Given her height (similar to Ogunbowale), that’s a good thing.

In this game against USF in last year’s NCAA tournament, Dillard scores 36 pts. Guess who was doing color commentary for the game? Katie Smith.

This is one play in a recent game. The situation: 1.1 sec left in game. Need to go the full length of the court and score to avoid going into OT. Dillard on the inbound pass. Touchdown!!

Coach Collen was at the [ND] game, FWIW. Didn't see any other WNBA coaches, but it was pretty decent crowd so they would have been hard to spot. A lot of ND fans were there. |
This was a game that was convenient for her to go to. She might possibly have season tickets like Reeve has for the Gophers. She didn’t go out of her way to scout ND players like say Reeve flying to Missouri to watch Cunningham and CRob.

BTW the fact that Reeve flew to Atlanta to meet with Moore would seem a bit worrisome, like maybe there really is some serious issue going on not just idle chatter here in the basement.....

She didn’t fly to ATL as far as I know. The game where Reeve watched Cunningham was in Missouri, as I just stated.

You don't think that non-statement statement from the Lynx made it pretty clear that there was something going on? |

I was going off of what justintyme posted:

She was there in Georgia to speak face to face with Maya. Pretty sure the game was secondary and a "since we are here, might as well" two birds; one stone, type thing. Wouldn't read much more into it than that.

WNBA Mock Draft Big Board 3.0: Knock-on effects as free agency arrives
https://highposthoops.com/2019/01/28/wnba-mock-draft-big-board-3-0-knock-on-effects-as-free-agency-arrives/
(Analysis at link. Probably not worth the trip.)
1. Las Vegas Aces: Katie Lou Samuelson, 6’3 G/F, Connecticut
2. New York Liberty: Asia Durr, 5’10 G, Louisville
3. Indiana Fever: Teaira McCowan, 6’7 C, Mississippi State
4. Chicago Sky: Arike Ogunbowale, 5’8 G, Notre Dame
While I have always stuck with BPA for CHI, what is this crap?
5. Dallas Wings: Kalani Brown, 6’7 C, Baylor
Megdal went away from BPA for Chicago so a Cambage replacement would conveniently fall to Dallas.
This isn’t good analysis. This is shameless pandering to Dallas fans.
6. Minnesota Lynx: Jessica Shepard, 6’4 F, Notre Dame
7. Los Angeles Sparks: Napheesa Collier, 6’1 F, Connecticut
8. Phoenix Mercury: Alanna Smith, 6’4 F, Stanford
9. Connecticut Sun: Ezi Magbegor, 6’4 F/C, Australia
10. Washington Mystics: Anriel Howard, 5’11 F, Mississippi State
11. Atlanta Dream: Kristine Anigwe, 6’4 F, California
If you look at his analysis, once again he forgets that Breland is on the team.
12. Seattle Storm: Sophie Cunningham, 6’1 G/F, Missouri
Also in the first-round mix
Brianna Turner, Notre Dame
Marina Mabrey, Notre Dame
Megan Gustafson, Iowa
Kitija Laksa, South Florida
Obviously he forgot she is out with an ACL.
Kennedy Leonard, Colorado
I think I have her at bottom of third round.
Some sleepers I’m keeping an eye on
Courtney Zezza, St. Francis PA
Danielle King, Marquette
Miranda Drummond, Syracuse
Ashton Millender, DePaul
Jenna Allen, Michigan State
Laura Ferreira, South Florida
Bridget Carleton, Iowa State
Natasha Hiedeman, Marquette
Hmmm.... he never mentioned her before.
And her name is “Natisha”. Ms Hiedeman, if you’re nasty.
I think there may be a future for Megdal at WNBA.com.
Cierra Dillard, Buffalo
This one should be “In first round mix” over both Leonard and Laksa.
Hallie Thome, Michigan
Jess Kovatch, St. Francis PA
Ayana Mitchell, LSU
Regan Magarity, Virginia Tech
Alexis Jennings, South Carolina
Bianca Cuevas-Moore, South Carolina
Alicia Froling, SMU
Jordan Moore, TCU
Taylor Murray, Kentucky
Kayla Goth, Kansas State
Maite Cazorla, Oregon
Laia Raventos, UNC Charlotte
Paris Kea, UNC
He better list her last.
The Lynx have 5 draft picks, so Bell should make some list.
CRob should be a sleeper since I expect she’ll get drafted.
It’s funny how he doesn’t recognize international players other than the most obvious one, Magbegor.
He ignored international players last year too.

Boo. I don't like Jessica Shepard. Reeve probably knows who my favorite players are, which is why her number one priority last season consisted of not keeping Montgomery and getting rid of Howard (even though she is one the league's biggest superstars and getting rid of her would guarantee the Storm win multiple titles and the Lynx never win again) only so she can tank for Shepard when Lynx could get her or someone better at the end of the 1st round if they didn't tank last season and be so much better off. 😂

Jess Shephard is a very good (not great) college player who has little chance of success in the WNBA. She is undersized as a five, and lacks the athleticism to be a four. Even in college, she is not a very strong defender, without much foot speed (Jess and Maybry are the two main reasons that Notre Dame is a shaky defensive team forced to rely on the zone). Most of her success on offense is with good inside work that will have little chance vs the superior athleticism in the W. Placing her higher in the draft than UConn's Collier is laughable.

What attributes does Collier posses that will make her more successful than shepard in the WNBA again ?
