Hey i know this guy named Fred , who just got the boot that states he wants to coach in the WNBA again if your looking for a replacement? Laughing Ive been waiting to tell someone that for the past 3 years!!!

Since I'm not an expert on who is out there, and even if Fred can't be any worse, I'm not sure how much better he'd be, I'll wait until Shades finds the next GOAT Head Coach candidate like he did in Nicki Collen. Smile

You guys realize there’s a difference between the coach and the GM, right?

Yes. But if I, as GM, have the power to, I might as well look at all options for coach as well. Smile Or maybe Fred would do a better job as coach/GM. Smile

It does look like half of the upper bowl is opened up for ticket sales. Should be a big crowd for Whalen's last home game.

It's upsetting because all we (or least Shades, me, and a few other fans I know elsewhere) wanted was for Reeve to do the obvious and keep/utilize Howard (obvious piece for now and the future with Brunson getting older, closer to retirement) and see if she can help continue the Lynx's run, but Reeve got rid of her for basically nothing, and now Howard is one of the main reason the Storm are in 1st place. If Reeve actually made moves that all made sense, and the Lynx failed, I'd be fine with it, but almost every move she has made has backfired.

Is it even known that Howard was willing to stay in Minnesota? Maybe Howard felt like her time was now, and she was tired on waiting for Brunson to decide she was ready to retire?

How many more years realistically does Brunson have? Reeve only signed her for this year, so if Brunson retires after this year, all the more reason to riot! Plus Howard was a RFA, so the Lynx should've had all the leverage. Teams almost never lose top RFAs unless those players are divas and demand to sit out. All Reeve probably had to do was promise her tons of minutes behind both Brunson and Fowles, and give her a few spot starts to rest Brunson during a condensed season, and I'd assume she would be fine, and if not, then it's Reeve's fault for making her unhappy or thinking she isn't as useful as she actually has shown to be in Seattle because she wasn't an old vet. I thought teams are logically supposed to do anything to keep top young talent, not give it away to other teams (only for that young talent to help their new team win games in be in first place instead), but I guess Reeve was obsessed with the idea of thinking you need to be old in order to win, so she had to get rid of any useful younger players.

Exactly. Why wait when you can get everything you wanted. Coach/GM gambled, player gambled Howard is where she wants to be. She got the money AND she got the playing time. She wins, we move on … well some of us Laughing

A shame ESPN couldn't get the graphic right on Whalen. 1808 steals would be impressive.

This game might not mean anything with a 10 point lead by Atlanta.

Turns out Thibault is Whalen’s biggest fan. He called off the dogs in a standings meaningless game. The oblivious fans are excited that the WAS deep benchers are getting throttled.

Great season for Washington...22 wins without Meesseman and a legit threat to win the Championship.
