After all these years, I have to admit I cannot open your YouTube posts.

When I paste in the whole string, I get nothing; when I try to just past in the YouTube code, I get nothing.

How do I see what you're posting?

I was hoping to see "I feel the game should be called per the rulebook".

I also can't see it on a iPad Mini (regardless of browser), but can see it on an iPad Pro and an Android tablet and Windows PCs.

I guess the solution is to also include the direct link in addition to the "embed html".

Check your profile and make sure "Always allow HTML" is set to Yes

While we are at it - can anyone tell me how to embed videos? Never figured that out.

From youtube, click on "share". It will present you several options. Click "embed". It should show you a code that looks something like this:

Code:
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/mXnJqYwebF8" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Copy that code and paste it in the message on the board.

NOTE: Some adblockers may prevent this from working. Also, ignore the dumb song I used for the example code.

A quicker way, at least on Windows machines:

You don't have to left click on "share". You can just right click on the video itself and a menu will open up; then select "copy embed code", which will automatically copy the embed code; and then paste the code here.

I should have asked: What Operating System/Version and Browser/Version are you using?

ERR_BLOCKED_BY_XSS_AUDITOR

Bypassing the XSS AUDITOR error in Chrome

Quote:
Fortunately, there are at least two ways to get around this.

The first is to use a different browser. Internet Explorer, MS Edge or FireFox. None of these currently block the embed code. But I don't want to use a different browser, I like Google Chrome.

The second way to get around this problem is to disable XSS checking in Google Chrome by adding a bit of code to the Chrome program address.
To do this, ....

I have the PortableApps.com version of Google Chrome Version 67.0.3396.99 (Official Build) (32-bit) and I can see the embedded YouTube videos without having done anything but install it.

Can you try the Microsoft Edge browser and see if they display in that?

I tried one, and it didn't work. It just kicks me to a Google search page.

You’re saying that using Microsoft Edge, you went into a thread that had a post with embedded HTML and in doing so you were redirected to a google search page?

Did you verify that your rebkell profile is set to “Always allow HTML”?
