Laimbeer? Collen? Hughes? I can't pick a frontrunner right now. Whichever coach has improved their team's end of season record over last season should get the award.

Collen seems like the easy choice to me, at this point.

My vote is for Collen as well, but I think Laimbeer should be on the list and not just as "Someone Else". I think nobody would vote for Stocks, Smith, or Chatman, so just list the top 9. I would actually put Laimbeer 2nd in my voting right now.

Hughes looks good because Jenny Boucek is so bad.

Can't the same be said about Collen?

Collen leaves Connecticut (she was often leading the timeout huddles), and now they collapse with an arguably better roster.

Hughes was largely cited for the collapse of San Antonio, and now he’s suddenly considered brilliant?

Just goes to show you, this is the most deceptive and meaningless award of the lot.

I agree COY is a bad award, maybe as bad as MIP. Smile
Though to be fair, I think the collapse of San Antonio had more to do more with Hughes' moves as general manager (and Becky Hammon retiring), than him as a coach.

My vote's still going to big Bill. Agree he needs his name on the poll list.

Tried to vote Collen but hit Brondello instead! Laughing Ignore that vote. I was clumsy not stupid.

I’m sure he’s getting the moves he wants now. SEA’s GM is no prize-winner, unless she suddenly got better.

When did Hammon retire? He had plenty of time to accomplish something other than being the worst team in the league.

Lambeer and Collen benefit from adding pieces there teams didn't have last year. How would Bill be doing without Wilson.

All of which means that COY is an award that is very hard to do much with most of the time. Also why a decent number of COYs have been fired not long after there award.

I think preseason predictions say a lot about who deserves to win COY. Most of the people thought that the Storm and Dream would be in the lottery (despite knowing what kind of talented players they had on the roster). So yeah IMO Hughes and Collen are my top candidates for this award. Bill will join them when Las Vegas comes in 8th

Nobody thought the Dream were a lottery team before the season.

Virtually everyone on this site said the Dream would be bad.

I'm sure the truth is somewhere in between

Looking at the predictions thread I see some people picking the Dream in the lottery and some saying they could be pretty good, picking them as high as 4th.
