At halftime, seeing that Cambage had 28 points, I looked up the WNBA record for points in a game. I saw that Riquna Williams had 51 in 2013. Why haven't the announcers bothered to ponder this? Isn't it part of their job to consider such things? Especially with a player from THEIR team on the verge of a historic performance?
Addendum: they FINALLY figured it out after Cambage was at 49 points (if I remember correctly). I assume someone told them. Didn't it occur to them, as Cambage was getting well into the 40s, to look it up?

Credit to WNBA 09 for saying Liz would be the best center in the league.

This is the most inept announcing team in the W, which is why they’re the biggest homers. So, this comes as no surprise.

Credit where credit is due. I feel like those New Yorkers that booed Porzingis on his draft night that are now singing his praises. It still looked like a risky proposition to me but its a good thing that I was wrong. Liz is putting in work. |

Pretty amazing game by Liz. Feels typical from a NY perspective that she had 5 3s all season and 4 today, but she made them.
Good to see Nurse have a breakout game, providing flashes of what she can be. It’s good at least to be able to hope for the future in that sense.
Post length is badly needed next season.

Lol Katie Smith is just a...bad bad coach
You see Liz is dominating you first half with 28 pts, no adjustments. No nothing to contain her from getting the damn ball
Great effort coming back but they came back to the old ways all year in 4th with horrible defense.
Only positive watching Kia Nurse play is a beauty
Congrats to Liz Cambage on the W record for most single point in a game

The topic of Charles dominating Liz this year can obviously die now . Liz broke the scoring record on the liberty. This is one season to remember for Katie

The few times they doubled it didn’t work. They doubled last game vs. Dallas and open 3s killed us, as did offensive rebounds from all the running around on D. And she shot 16 FTs, some non-shooting, 4 threes and a few face up 2s. I think it’s a damned-if-you-do, damned-if-you-don’t proposition basically. Whatever they’ve tried hasn’t worked. An indicator that they need something more to defend better.

They were pretty good defensively last season with mostly the same roster. Maybe Raincock-Ekunwe is an underrated defender.
