No Bird(rest) or Clark(ankle). Langhorne is dressed but didn't warm up.

Laimbeer has a solid rotation player in Park.

I think Park has a lot of upside. She just needs time.

Las Vegas went 15 minutes without either point guard in the game (Plum 17 min, Allen 8 min).

Wilson has a nice game, she’s big, she’s fast, she’s strong, and she moves around the paint really well for a young player her size.

Hopefully Clark is back soon. The ankle injury happened at the end of the Sun game (dont know exactly when, couldnt see a twist). She couldnt even defend the last shot and was really hurt.

Stewart showed up big time but needs help even against the Aces. Loyd s play has been dropping lately

I was really impressed with Wilson's set shot. It is one of the most pure shots I have seen from a big post. Really was pretty to watch.

The Storm was gritty on a night when their shots weren't falling. I liked the way they fought the whole way through.

You could really feel the difference in the team without Bird. Both this game and the Wings game in Dallas, the Storm had a hard time getting in synch. Bird is that veteran who knows how to make folks look good and it builds up their confidence. The team just couldn't figure itself out without her until it was too late.

The Aces aren't the most talented, outside of Wilson and McBride, but they have a lot of hustle, grit and determination. They just wanted this game more than the Storm, who looked tired.

So is Laimbeer reinventing Ty as a lead guard?

Good win for the Aces. Not the team to take lightly and rest Bird against.

Young took advantage of the Storm's lack of size at the sg/sf positions.....It wouldn't be a bad idea to sign Gwathmey,or call Chicago and inquire about the availability of Copper.......Also,J.Loyd had another one of those games:

6-18 vs LV-loss
2-11 vs Conn-win
5-17 vs ATL-loss
5-17 vs Dal-loss
3-11 vs Phoe-loss

Loyd did have 7 assist in last night's game.

I think I was very premature in anointing Canada to take over for Sue. Still very raw. I like her energy and speed, but there's no substitute for Bird's court savvy and experience running a team.

We also really missed Alysha Clark. I don't think the Aces go up 17-3 with Clark on the floor to defend. KML has been playing great, but people blow by her.

I like the Aces, I see a lot of upside there. When they get Jefferson back they will be even more of a problem.

And even more of a problem if/when Harrison returns.

More important is her ability to consistently make three-pointers. She's had streaks in the past -- once a season maybe -- where she gets hot, but most of the time, given her size, defenders can play off of her enough to keep her from getting to the paint.

Wasn't this the second time Bird has sat on the bench in uniform (why is she in uniform if she isn't going to play - note, they lost this game???) because she needs rest? Is she taking practices off too between these games where she needs a rest? Sounds like it is time for her to retire if she can't play more than 5 games in a row.

Looks like you are right. Stormy's have lost 4 and won 8 games but Bird only played in 10. They lost both games she didn't play.

They're clearly a better team with her on the court.
Therefore ... she should retire ? Confused

I would rather reduce her minutes per game by 20% than sit her out of 20% of the games.

They're actually doing that too. Bird is down from 30.0 minutes/game last year to 25.5 minutes/game this year. That's a 15% decrease.
