A full week off versus playing a meaningless game ? Im pretty sure most players not originally picked are passing on that for sure. Everyone's headed home to visit family they rarely can see these days in the states. |
And yet almost every year they have replacements without resorting to single-digit scorers well past their prime. |
This way we'll have the all time leaders in points, assists, and rebounds all in the game. That hasn't happened since 2003, when Lisa Leslie was the leader for points and rebounds and Teresa Weatherspoon led in assists.

lmao they really just replaced Nneka with Brunson instead of Howard.
Might as well go all the way and put Whalen in there too.

I just spoke with Nneka's mom this past sunday when she came to watch Chiney against Dallas , Very very nice lady . Said nothing of Nneka being hurt so hopefully its nothing serious but she was worried about Chiney's behavior after getting tossed .

I believe it's Achonwa's bachelorette party this weekend (I think that's what one of the commentators said - McBride's missing the party due to making the roster). So she probably wasn't an option (and there may be others who prefer being guests at the party than the end of the bench in Minnesota). |

Come on now Howard is a better choice |
So is Hayes! Boarders made the pick(or so they said). She is from Atlanta so maybe she thought if she picked Hayes she would be a homer. I haven't heard anyone saying that Brunson should have been on the team but many have said Hayes should have been on the team.

I was rooting for Howard, but I'm OK with giving it to a player in the host city.

That's completely undeserving?

Referring back to the question about making the ASG special -- choosing Brunson won't do it.
I do like the financial angle -- give the winners $10,000 each and the losers $2,500, and play it like a real game where the good players get the bulk of the minutes, and it's worth watching.
But if everyone rotates so that everyone gets minutes, then it's not a real game ... especially if EDD comes out, say, and Rebekkah Brunson (one of my favorite players from 15 years ago) comes in.

They already have 3 ? Do they really need a 4th for the host city ? Either the W is nervous this ASG will be a bust or are very desperate .

Dang! As much as I dislike Nneke, I was looking forward to watching her play in this game. It would’ve been fun for her to finally get called for her hack fouls, and not get away with the “You can’t call a foul on me, don’t you know I’m a star?” look...
