The number 23 has been magical for the Lynx; it's Maya Moore's jersey, and they've won four WNBA championships in her seven seasons. But the numbers "2-3" represent something altogether foreign: That's the Lynx's current record. They had never been below .500 in the Moore era, which started when she was the No. 1 draft pick in 2011.

Los Angeles (3-1) started the season with one true post, Nneka Ogwumike, as Candace Parker was injured, Jantel Lavender was still playing overseas and rookie Maria Vadeeva of Russia wasn't in the United States yet.

When i hear "Yet" that makes me think Vadeeva has arrived in LA ? Any other sources ?

Lynx lost their first game in both 2011 and 2018, and therefore have been under .500 in Maya era before, for what that's worth.

Lynx have gone in funk for 2 or 3 seasons now where they lose a few games, and generally don't look that great. Happens every year. This year it is just in the first weeks. For Lynx fans it breeds the fear that the party may be over. For the rest of the fans, it breeds hope that it just might be.

I think she's still in Russia judging from her Instagram post but her visa hearing is on June 1st so maybe by the second week of June we should see her in a game

That's what im thinking also. She's having to complete the same process as Liz cambage. Sad the people who write about the sport know less than us basement dwellers Laughing

As a sparks fan it brings me joy both of those losses were given to them by L.A.
