Wow, this draft is much deeper than I anticipated. Hard to imagine Kristine Anigwe falling to the second round but in a draft of this quality, I suppose it's not completely out of the realm of possibilities. Will be interesting to see how next season goes. A lot of seniors could play their ways up (or down) the draft. Megan Gustafson will be the "Steal" of this draft, IMO.

This does look like a deep draft, which might keep Ionescu from coming out. Who are the top players for 2020?

That looks like the Dancing with the Stars draft. Doubt any GM would take a small guard who doesn't play any D at #1.

There is no indication that Ionescu might come out early, right?

We probably won't know until next April what her plans are.

I think a lot depends on the draft classes ... as I recall, there's a significant contract advantage to being one of the top four picks.

Also, a question arises for her if she's viewed as a two guard (thus competing directly with Durr and Ogunbowale) or as a point. If she's the top point guard in the class, maybe she goes higher -- which would also impact her income in Europe, I would suspect.

She will have Romanian citizenship, I believe, but since she's played for USA Basketball, I'm not sure if she will qualify as a European, which is another complexity. If she's a top four pick in the WNBA and counts as a European, she might be leaving $250,000 on the table if she stays for her senior year.

And of course, injuries and performance will have a huge impact ...

But there is no way she isn't a lottery pick, regardless of when she comes out. I find it hard to believe she isn't the No. 1 pick either this year or next.

It is still rare for a player to leave early, especially one without extenuating circumstances.

True. I would never bank on a player leaving college early unless I knew for certain that she is on schedule to graduate that year.

Remember all the discussion we had about Mitchell leaving early, and as it turned out, she didn't seem to even know she was eligible to leave early.
