On the Phoenix Mercury Facebook feed, there was a post that said...

“DeWanna Bonner's 18 rebounds from last night is a playoff franchise record and is the second most ever in a WNBA playoff game.”

So, who holds the most ever rebounds in a WNBA playoff game?

Well, the post did say “playoff franchise record”, for the most rebounds in a playoff game. This would refer to PHX Mercury players.

It's the second part that is the problem, not the franchise part.

As pilight demonstrated, 18 rebounds is not "the second most ever in a WNBA playoff game".

(And obviously they were no longer referring to just PHX players in the second part, as it would not make sense to say that it was the second most in team playoff history when they just said she set the team record).

In their Mercury Centric Universe it was accurate. Most rebounds for a Phoenix player in a playoff game and 2nd most for any player in a Mercury playoff game. Laughing
