If Marquette plays like they have the last two games, they are in a lot of trouble. I think Danielle King could be key in this game for MU.

Go Marquette!!!

why does the score thing list MU first if they're the 1 seed?

Some weird stuff going on here. DePaul may be the host school, but that shouldn't allow them the home unis.

Unless it was something that Marquette agreed to.

If I was Marquette and had the choice, I would have wanted to see if there was an advantage of putting DePaul in their road unis. Maybe Marquette feels like the prefer the underdog role.

Marquette wore their whiite uniforms yesterday and may not have wanted to wash them. And they do wear the powder blue uniforms at home sometimes too. DePaul looking good so far Sad. They are up 34-21 with 7:07 to go i the second quarter.

Damn. I didn't expect this!

20 point DePaul lead with 1:30 to go in first half.

Someone needs to tell Marquette they can’t shoot the 3. This game is ugly - DePaul is going to run away with this.

14-24 on threes for DePaul.

What is the record for makes in a game? I'm thinking that it has to be within reach.

WOMEN -
THREE-POINT FIELD GOALS
25— Sacramento St. vs. Portland St., Jan. 23, 2016 (55 attempts); Sacramento St.

MEN -
THREE-POINT FIELD GOALS
28—Troy vs. George Mason, Dec. 10, 1994 (74 attempts)

DePaul acting like a well oiled machine. Marquette looking like they got lost in a snowstorm.

you'd think they just might guard the 3 point line, eh? but no, let's just dare 'em to shoot.

I hope this awful showing doesn’t move MU to an 8/9 seed. Of course if they play like they have tonight they won’t beat anyone.

It reminds me of Rosemont/all state whatever you want to call it - doesn’t seem likely me a huge upgrade over that.

They are calling it stage lighting and comparing it to MSG.

Thanks.

Thanks - I should have just stayed home but that would have gotten me in trouble with my husband for being so upset around my kids so there’s one positive to me coming down for the game 😀. Not sure Marquette will ever get over the hump.

But congrats to DePaul who showed they were the much better team.

Each team beat the other by 12 at home.

This is stunning.

Is it really stunning? Look at the first two games of the tournament where DePaul won easily and MU barely escaped.

I can guaranty that there isn't a 3 or 4 seed that wants to see DePaul coming to their house.

True, but a 35-pt blowout that was over at halftime still surprises me.

DePaul looked very disciplined to me. Marquette looked kind of ragged and tired.

It's part of Marquette's plan to make opponents in the NCAA Tournament overlook them Smile. I kid of course - they wouldn't purposely play like they did last night and I worry about carry over from that loss into the Tournament.

One of my issues with Marquette is they can be really bad like they were last night or really good at times - there's not much consistency. But I do have to give a lot of credit to DePaul also - they played super well.

On a positive note, MU's performance makes the pre-tourney time off a good thing. Smile

Smile

And at least I know they're going to make the NCAA Tourney - would have made it all the worse if they had needed the automatic bid. I just hope it doesn't drop them to an 8 or 9 seed. And last year they were on a roll winning the BET and seemingly had a lot of momentum and then proceeded to lose their first round NCAA Tourney game. So maybe the opposite will happen this year Smile.

Unless you think you have a shot against Texas, South Carolina, or even Oregon (if not Baylor, of course), being a #7 is probably no different this year than being an #8/#9.

Right now I don't have much confidence in them being able to beat anyone so I guess you're right in that it doesn't really matter if they're a 7 versus an 8/9.

Same here. My Gophers are probably stuck as 8 seed (maaaybe a 7) and blew a chance to get even higher if they had managed to beat Ohio St (at least they got out of the bubble by beating Iowa), but then they'd probably embarass themselves by losing in the first round to a South Dakota St. 😂 The standards are so low, just winning a game wiill be bigger than it is for some teams to make the Final Four. Very Happy
