21 all end of q1

Louisville has been playing like shit thruout this tourny...but just good enough to win and advance. We'll see if they can continue that run.

ND can't dribble without pushing off and flailing their arms around. And a lot of whining at the refs.

Last 3 minutes of the 1st half and both teams are gassed, missing layups and nowhere close on other shots. This is also the point of the game when UConn tends to open up leads on teams.

Unclear why Shepard, after getting the L'ville posts in foul trouble by posting up, then spent the rest of the time floating around outside instead of posting up where she could do more damage. Shocked

Also just realizing ND with Turner back, should be really, really good next year.

Turner AND 6'4 Vaughn back, AND 6'3" Danielle Cosgrove coming in, all to go along with Shepard.

Meanwhile all the guards are back along with three freshmen guards for some depth.

Someone else's turn to get hit with four injuries. Sad

Because McGraw is smart. After Jeff complained about her displacing defenders and using her elbows to clear out to the point of being warned she knew the refs would call her for her second foul the next time she did it. McGraw, IMO, is a master at managing fouls, both for and against her team. And I mean that as a compliment.

I dunno. They had little players on her. She didn't even need to post up hard. Just be in there for a lob.

Just more of Walz's usual "we're going to foul the shit out of you at every position and count on the refs not to call it". "And I'm going to bitch and whine and moan constantly to keep the calls as low as possible". It worked in his biggest win against Baylor, he does it now in every big game.

but both ways...

Arike looked like she did a takeout under the basket. But whoever was guarding Mabrey also got some shoves in before she shoved back.

I think he's done it in every game since becoming a coach. He's the biggest coach whiner in the ncaa.

Wasn't a foul, not when you fall into players going no where. Pass the ball.

Neither of these teams look like #1's. But I guess they're there by default because nobody else does either.

Good decision by Shepard, if guards won't pass, take it yourself.
