Good look at the thuggiest player in the P12. Oregon out good in the 1st but USC coming back in the second. They miss having Ruthie on the floor in the 2nd.

26 all at half. I thought about the under on this game, but didn't think it would be this far under.

USC putting up a good fight. Oregon having trouble doing even the basic things...1 point game with 26 seconds left.

Neither team can get a stop, looks like whoever has the last possession will win.

I think hitting the supporting structure of the backboard is out of bounds. Not sure how that Bando 3 counted.

I think Trakh has done a hell of a job with essentially five players. Much better teamwork and chemistry than at any time under either Cooper.

Oregon wins in 2OT 80-74

How did that Bando 3 count? I thought the ball hitting the top of the backboard was out.

Ruthie Hebard has now made 30 straight field goal attempts. Her last 3 game shooting stats are 12-12, 12-12 & 13-15.

Shocked Shocked Shocked

The support is absolutely out of play. A truly terrible call. Perhaps someone can weigh in as to whether that is a reviewable play. (Bando's 3 point shot hit the rim, then bounced up on top of the backboard and hit the support before falling back into the basket. The play occurred with less than a minute to go in double OT when it was a 1 point game). If it isn't reviewable it is just one more reason why the review rule is crap. If it is reviewable these refs shouldn't be able to work any postseason play, certainly in the Pac 12. I can understand the ref under the basket not seeing the play because her eyes have to be on the players going for the rebound. But one of the outside refs has to be watching the ball to see if it goes in and there was no question it had skipped over the backboard. A sad day for USC fans and players, and I as a rule I can't stand USC. But tonight they got robbed.

I don't care one way or another who wins that game but USC got jobbed, or rather Missy Barlowed. A shame.

The ball bounced on the top of the backboard and then went in. It never touched the supports.

I don’t think it ever touched the top of the backboard. It bounced off a piece that is attached to the top of the backboard. Without that piece it would have gone all the way over. It should be out of play I think.

Have to disagree. In fact the structure of the basket has a piece of the support that is directly on top of the backboard, (i.e., the support attaches to the top of the backboard), but even at that the ball hit beyond that.

I never went back to re-watch it but if you all disagree after seeing it multiple times, not sure how the refs are expected to tell in real time, especially if it is not a reviewable play.

I think that the third shot is clear. The ball goes beyond the backboard and then changes directions back toward the basket when it hits the support. The spin of the ball off the rim is taking it away from the basket.

You are right. I never saw the support that angles back and up from the center top of the backboard. UCLA was robbed.

But what a shot for a game of horse.

Wow, that really sucks.

Funny how Mare Murphy never mentioned that as she breathlessly described what a great game it was, here, during the Stan-Cal game. Laughing

Holy shit, they're yapping about the shot and fail to acknowledge it was illegal.

Oh my! Mare is on a tear!

"NO state in the union supports women's basketball like Oregon!!"

Attendance at the respective games yesterday- 5283 and 5011.

Mare "Trump" Murphy.
