I am not slighting Jackie Wilson, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Solomon Burke, etc. They will be apart of future polls.
This is just to select from the men listed.

Teddy Pendergrass would be my choice. He is the only one with songs (some with Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes) that I can say I have heard and liked. Particularly Bad Luck.
