While Tenn has played like a top 10 team up to this point in the season (except for the last 3/4 of the ND game) this was the point where I thought that their lack of depth and overuse of freshmen would start to show. Today's game should be revealing. It's safe to say the Vols won't be over-confident.

As for Miss St, with the exception of Oregon at home they have played a lot of mediocrities. This will be their first road game against a quality(?) team. In games like this I always say take the points.

And here I was about to say that Tenn's standing around on offense is just awful to watch. Mad

Russell a statue on defense. First on McCowens drive down the lane and then under the boards when Miss St had 2 O-boards and a basket while she watched. Russell is a great offensive weapon but is doing nothing to stop endless drives down the lane.

Does anyone have a clue as to what has been going on with Nared? She's hasn't seemed in the flow for a number of the games I've seen.

VV!!

Is Russell the best 6-6 (or over) prospect since Britney Griner? She has to play in a half court offense that knows how to free her up and to feed her.

What a game thus far! Miss St has it going on for now but I expect the refs will begin to help Tenn with home cooking. We will see.

According to the ESPN shot chart Tenn has made 2 baskets from outside the paint and both ere by Russell.

Russell 6-6 for 12, just about what she scored in the 1st half at Notre Dame. Other than Russell the Vols are shooting 5-19.

She has improved on offense and getting a few more actual moves, but yeah, her defense is stand in the lane and hope someone drives at her. That will be a real problem at the next level.

Overall, quite a fun game. I do love those Tenn. Freshmen, but what will they do inside next year? Is Kush...injured or just not good enough to get on the floor?

Who's that person playing in Russell's uniform? Laughing Showing her ilk. Knees must be getting better. Good to see.

Obvious that McCowens needs another year in college before going pro..

So far, Vivians showing why she's higher ranked than Narad by WNBA Draft analysts.

Russell's effort isn't consistent on either end of the court and she fades in the second half. KK has been injured off and on, but Green returns and will likely be the go-to post, backed by KK and frosh Amira Collins. Harris will only get garbage minutes in blowouts.

I think she's just trying too hard, and forcing some bad shots. 17.4 ppg on 39%, and 8.4 rpg with 7 dbl-dbls. Her 3 pt shooting is 28% and she shouldn't be shooting from out there, IMHO.

Yeah especially when she can't be in her favorite spot for longer than 3 seconds, could take her double that time to walk in and out.

Well, the statue has held McCowan to six points on 2-5 shooting.

The statues are a good compliment to each other.
