England and Australia for the Gold?

How is the board going to deal with all the antipathy... or apathy between Richyyy and Luuuc?

I was hoping for an earthquake or something at 8-7 so the game would be stopped and they'd have to keep that as the result Smile. Things have gone rather predictably since then.

The big win for England was against Canada in the semis. This one was always a matter of how much rather than who.

I was going to say the stretch where she went 'coast-to-coast' for a layup, then gave up an easy backdoor layup and stuck her hip out for an offesnive foul was very Cambage-y. Then she dominated offensively, elbowed someone in the head, and whined her way into an ejection for a second tech. That was super Cambage-y.

Lauren Jackson was a pretty dirty player in her day, and she still managed to be revered.

Terrible comparison. LJ wasn't dirty, she just had a potty mouth and didn't take any crap from anyone. LJ was revered because she was a fierce competitor who didn't quit. Winning titles and being one of the greatest players in WNBA history didn't hurt either.

She’s not as blantant as Cambage, but she was plenty dirty. More like hard moving screens, yanking weaves, etc. I remember she did something pretty blantant to Dev Peters probably in her last year, but I can’t exactly remember what. Oh, and I remember she put her whole hand over Taj’s face and took her out of a play.

Unfortunately TinyPic seems to no longer be hosting my dirty play screenshots.

So, another big difference between LJ and Liz. "I am a bitch" vs. "These refs just don't know how to ref me"
Liz has probably exceeded LJ's career dirtiness in this one season alone. To me, intentionally injuring someone doesn't really compare with accidentally getting your hand caught in someone's weave, but I get that people's mileage varies when it comes to dirtiness. e.g. Plenty of people admire Taurasi's competitive nature whereas for me it has crossed the line too often.

Nah, usually I'm pretty fanatical about keeping them but the CG's were so meh that I didn't bother even for my own collection, other than the Opals gold medal game. I don't think YT is an option though. They cracked down hard on anything from the games.

I thought that was the direction they'd go with the naturalised player, but always seems rather unfair on the player in Kelsey Griffin's position. Basically been the best player on the team in certain squads, and loses out because of how desperate they are for a point guard.

The Aussies have got what looks like a pretty fantastic draw at the Worlds. The best other team in their group is the floundering Turks, and their quarter-final should be vs Japan, Puerto Rico, Latvia or China. Frankly, if they finish this tournament any lower than 4th, Brondello should be getting her walking papers.

Talbot has been really stepping up for PHX lately. She’s better than a marginal player. Has playing in the WNBA helped develop her?

World Championships have never been important to her. I think she only ever made herself available for it once.

The future of Australian basketball. Good to see Basketball Australia give her an early shot at the national time with the World Championships.

Also curious to see how she plays next to Cambage. Can she be a starting face-up four, with Liz in the paint? Can Liz step outside more and, with the threat of her shot range, pass to Ezi by the basket?

Excited to see...

Wow. So in consultation with the Phoenix Mercury - i.e. Sandy Brondello - Mitchell made the difficult decision to pullout from the Opals - led by Sandy Brondello - to start rehab instead.

Luuuc, I'm not totally familiar with all the players on your roster, who's the other point guard(s)? Are they going to expect Whitcomb to run the offense? She's a nice fit as a gunner around Cambage, but I'm not sure I'd want her as the primary distributor unless the other options are terrible.

And Kelsey Griffin has got to be a little sick that Mitchell gets hurt and she's still not in as the naturalised player (although last I heard her health was doubtful as well).

Really glad for Sami. Opals best chance is put as many gunners around Cambage to open things up for her. Whitcomb, O'Hea, Allen, Talbot those are some pretty good 3pointshooters

What the heck is a Chemist Warehouse? Is that a place they store chemists in case anyone needs one? Got to be the strangest team sponsor I've ever heard of.

Ahh there she is , sandy better beg her ass out of retirement to play for opals again. She has always been a difference maker on that team!

Why yes, the Opals with Batkovic DID have more success than with Cambage.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzy_Batkovic

Nerd whatever you say , your cambages biggest hater and its way past obvious. Funny thing is i made that post just to see if you would bite and of course...good doggy! Now sit please

Wow that's some bullshit thrown there 09. Really antagonistic. There is NEVER an excuse to call someone a dog, no matter how you disagree.

For the record, I agree with Nerd2 about Cambage needing to put up. I don't think she's a "hater" but a realist. I hope Liz does well, it would be great for the league, but let's see her perform against BG, Syl, Charles, Jones, etc. before we pronounce her the lord of basketball.

So i recieved a PM about why nerd and some other LADIES are doing this and i must say your totally wrong and clueless ive never used an L chat before and kind of weird on how i was even mentioned somewhere ive never even been ! But now i get it carry on no need for Online gangs. Thats so 3rd grade

So is calling someone a dog, very childish.
