Long way to go to play patsies...
Seton Hall on Dec. 17th and then,
Fordham on Dec. 20th
Must have a lot of extra time and money to blow.

Hey, who says visiting New York isn't a reason?
Also, I take exception to SHU and Fordham being labeled as patsies.
If you see a couple of loud, crazy people (possibly with a Jolly Roger) and one very confused dude sitting next to them, near the band, that would be us.

60-53 at the 3Q. Pirates deporting themselves admirably.

Bruins win unimpressively, 77-68. Jimenez and Fountain looked good.
Nice to see Walsh Gym again. I watched the great Nick "The Quick" Werkman there in the early 60's, who averaged 32 PPG for his three-year college career. He had post moves I've never seen before or since. |

Thanks for posting that. I have waffled a bit on Cori. She is a major step up from Kathy Olivier, but I'm not sure she is an elite coach. I had a chance to speak to her briefly in Las Vegas last month and I liked her. Listening to that clip, I admire her more; she understands that these are young women getting an education. Truly STUDENT-athletes. Well done Cori.
And if snow doesn't get in the way for my trip down I hope to see them lose to Cal on New Year's Eve in Berkeley.

Massey projected a 12 point UCLA win (75-63), and the Sagarin model projected a 4-point UCLA win (91.14 rating - 83.99 rating + 3 point home bonus for Seton Hall), so I suppose the Bruins were either 3 points less-impressive or 5 points more-impressive than projected, depending.
Anyway, as a Bruin fan, I'll happily take the road W... UCLA's first true road win of the season.
Good game to the Pirates. See you in Westwood next year.

The Bruins have historically had big troubles in Berkeley, so there's certainly a very good chance you'll get to see that Bruin L you're jonesing for. Good luck to your Bears!

I rarely look at those sites, but in my personal view I would expect the 11th ranked team in the country to be more than four points (or the actual margin, nine points) better than team of national nobodies, picked to finish sixth in the Big East, and who lost by 25 to unranked Rutgers. |

Ah yes, let us yearn for a return to the days of losing 91-24 to UConn. Phyllis had long since run out of fucks to give. I'm not sorry she's gone, but I'm sorry she's playing second fiddle to an incompetent at St. Peter's.
UCLA is very tall and can be very explosive. Lawd, some of their shooting, though. I'm trying to think of how many airballs or extremely short shots they had, and the number is at least three (not to be confused with the number of extremely short shorts, good grief Billings).
If good JaQuan shows up, we have a real chance of winning this game. Or if maybe Taylor Brown doesn't keep shooting for the goddamn foul instead of the goddamn shot... but that's sour grapes. UCLA always had an answer, whether it was a Canada drive or a Hayes three.

This pretty much boils this Bruin team down to its essence.
