Interesting contrast. The AP has TAMU ranked 19th with 419 votes and USC 31st with 8 votes. Massey has USC ranked 21st and TAMU 34th, making the Women of Troy a 5 pt favorite. If you see them wheeling a wooden horse into the arena bet on the Aggies

I will be surprised if USC is even competitive in this one.

Go, Sadie Edwards -- a wonderful high school player in New York, who had naive expectations about UConn and was smart to transfer after one semester to USC.

I haven't looked into TAMU too deeply, but they seem like a team that hasn't really earned their ranking. Their two best wins are probably a 6-pt home win over Rice and a 13-pt win over TCU.

I guess their worst loss would be a 15-pt home loss to Oregon, who someone just reasoned in another thread was young and vulnerable on the road.

Now the only road game TAMU has played so far was against a fellow Texas team. The USC game will be the farthest that TAMU has traveled this season.

USC's most impressive wins are a sweep of the Rainbow Wahine Showdown.
They beat Purdue, Marist, and Hawaii in back-to-back-to-back games. It's not easy to go to Hawaii and accomplish this, but you can put your own spin on it.

USC also took down fellow unbeaten team Layola Maramount.

USC haven't lost, so they have no worst loss. If they lose this game, this will be the one.

USC last played about two weeks ago. Will they be rested or rusty?

This is the most intriguing game of the day. Rice is actually not very good. Beating them by only 6 is probably their worst effort of the year. The TCU game looks good. The other game that didn't look like anything at the time but may be something now is their win over Houston. The Cougars were picked near the bottom of the American, but have managed to go 8-1 since their loss at College Station.

USC is coming off finals, which is the reason for the two week break. I've always liked Mark Trakh, but I didn't see this quick a turnaround. This is their first test, I don't expect either team to be near the top in their conference, but a win tonight might look very good come March if they can finish in the top half of their conference.

Looks like Clay was right about Carter being the best Frosh in the country.

Howard has impressive hair. And every time I see her, I'm in awe of her rebounding.

So A&M is Carter, Carter, & Carter. She might be a bit better if she ever tried to get her teammates involved. But on the other hand, they aren't very impressive when they do touch the ball. Hillsman meh - just consistently missing 2 footers. Howard can rebound but can't shoot. They don't appear to have anybody who can shoot from outside the arc.

USC has some positives. I've always thought Simon was a bit of a thug, but she is good at some things. She'd be better if she slowed down. Actually that's true of a number of players. Moore is good but not shooting very well. Mazyk shows good speed. And the team actually has some pretty good set plays.

I'm always most impressed by her eyelashes.

I'm interested in how much GB will improve this team by March.

Not sure Clay has said that but, as an early prediction, I've suggested that more than once since last summer.

I remember him saying it, but, unlike Shades, I don't keep all the old threads in a database to pick out the quote I need. Razz

Something about Edward's face that reminds me of Chamique.

Someone needs to tell Moore that penetrating the lane and throwing up a prayer that doesn't even hit the rim isn't effective offense unless you can create some contact.

USC skirted early bonus foul trouble in the third quarter very well.

Hey TAMU, it's the fourth quarter, it's 10:26 PM CT and you're getting sleepy. VERY sleepy!

Midway through the 4th period and other than Carter the Aggies have 25 pts and 1 (one) assist.

How many college students do you know that go to bed before midnight?
