The Marquee Matchup of the weekend I guess, and I hope will be as entertaining as yesterday's USF-OU barnburner.
Big step up in class in terms of opponents for both, although UT's win by 10 vs Ok St in Cancun Thanksgiving weekend may look better after the Cowgirl's win over UCLA the other day.

Both teams have been underperforming based on their preseason hype for several years now.
It says something about the overall quality of teams this year that these 2 are ranked 2nd & 12th despite the fact that not only has neither team has played a currently ranked opponent but that you might be able to count the top 100 opponents among their 16 wins on one hand. But then it may say more about the voters over-reliance on name recognition at this point in the season.

The under looks good at this point.
Not exactly either an offensive exhibition or a picture of efficient execution. Midway through the first the teams combined to shoot 5-21. Texas whistled for 4 fouls to zero for the home team. Tenn leads 10-2.
Tenn is packing a zone and daring Texas to shoot 3's. So far it is working as Texas is having a tough job hitting the rim.

They will settle in.
Nared is a strong player. She looks comfortable everywhere and this is her team.
Westbrook is going to be great, like her poise.
Hayes playing scared, traveling and fumbling passes. Lots of pressure and fans today. Let's see how these baby Vols respond.

It's nationally televised games like this that turn off any men's bb fans that tune in to watch.
But ESPN would rather hype an SEC team than show a team like Green Bay.

| The refs seem to be calling a lot of minor contact non-shooting fouls. Very unlike SEC officiating.
