I think this has potential to be interesting. Have my DVR set already.

Or, it could get out of hand.

I'm hopeful for a competitive game.

Well, if the first couple minutes are any indication, this looks to be very ragged, high energy, entertaining game.

Even bigger upset special. Why do I get a feeling it's only a head fake?

This UCLA team may have improved its talent level, but it sure hasn't improved its discipline level.

It may even win this game on sheer talent, but it's still kind of a waste of this great recruiting class.

Cori Close seems to be a very nice person...and a TERRIBLE coach.

and IMO Billings is over-rated. She is a high energy athletic player all over the place but really still hasn't developed much in the way of skill. To me, it looks like she could be called for offensive fouls almost every time she touches the ball in the post.

UCLA with a quick 4-0 run out of the TO, but then the Cowgirls fight back: 61-51 after 3 quarters. Goodwin slightly outplaying Canada right now.

On the positive side, I do like Cori's new 'look'. She usually is styling frumpy old lady, but this looks quite nice.

UCLA is not coming back. Oklahoma State may be for real.

Feel bad for the Bruins, but gee, they did make some stupid mistakes. Like, when the other team's bigs are in foul trouble, why would you not be going inside every time down instead of hoisting away from three?

Wow. 87-72 final. I think OK St. is at least the 3rd best team in the B12.

Was this UCLA's first true road game? Wonder if that affected things?

The only thing I can figure is that Close must have spent the off season being tutored by Sylvia Hatchell. You could put the entire UCLA offensive playbook on a single 3x5 file card, with room to spare.

And evidently they're coached to always shoot within the first eight seconds of the clock.

A lot of talent and no game plan at all. Just run and somebody go 1 on 5.

They'll still win a lot of games on pure playground talent. But it's disappointing. They could be better.

Kind of a problem to have the first road game be a month into the season ...

When UCLA's outside shots aren't falling (and they far too infrequently fall), the Bruins are just way too easy to defend in the half-court. Run under screens, pack the paint and collapse on every single drive and post-up. Don't worry about the kick-outs, they'll just clank 'em anyway.

It's very frustrating.

Sigh.

UNC is having their first road game on New Year's Eve at against Florida St. At least UCLA didn't have cupcakes to go along with the home cooked schedule like UNC.

They like to get out in transition when possible especially with Braxton Miller and that Goodwin kid. But looked good in half court as well. Jensen is a big piece of the half court set as she can establish and reestablish position and has decent footwork and good hands.

I thought that Miller kid played really heads up and I believe she's a frosh had an open court steal on the wings and raced down court and dished a nice pass on the 2-1 break to the other cutter.
