So they were labeling cans "BPA free" if they used a liner that didn't contain BPA. I just noticed a "Non-Intent BPA" on a can label. I looked it up and found a statement from one company that says:

All NV canned products now have NON-INTENT BPA-free can linings (except for all of the NV Olives and the NV Dog Food). NV olives will be in NIBPA cans by December 2017!
Bisphenol-A (BPA) is a plasticizing chemical found in the epoxy linings of some cans, and in many other consumer products.
We understand that Our Customers are concerned about BPA, that’s why we make every effort to avoid it. Unfortunately, because of it’s widespread use, BPA persists at low levels in our environment (water, soil, air) and it cannot be 100% eliminated. This is why we cannot say “BPA-Free.” |
