Cal wins 89-64.

Cal was shooting 70% from the floor until Chen Yue missed a jumper with 19 seconds to go. The Cal formula seems clear, feed the post continually, even when it results in turnovers. Cal had 17. If the other team sags in too much shoot from 3. Cal was 4-7 beyond the arc.

The WCC looks like it is having a very disappointing year. Perennial leader Gonzaga is not as good this year and may not repeat. But perennial challengers San Diego and BYU (at least since they joined the conference) have taken a step back leaving only St. Mary's as a prime challenger. The one team that has stepped up is Loyola Marymount, but it is hard to tell whether they are really ready to contend. Either way, this is a one bid conference regardless of who wins their tournament.
