Nurse 5-5 behind the arc and add an old fashion 3 for 18 pts in the first 12 minutes. I don't care who the opponent is, you still have to make the shot.

Looks like the entire 2nd half will be garbage time. Moving on to the Notre Dame game and looking forward to it sitting courtside right behind the ND bench!

i suppose geno, et al, will see too many open shots and poor halfcourt D execution.

True, but for some reason I doubt we'll see something similar Sunday. Smile

The entire team made one last year 1-9 (kls 1-4).

Bacl to the game: Looks like UConn won't cover. Nevada has decided that they'll grab the arms of anyone driving the lane and the refs are letting a lot of it go. UConn isn't helping their cause with some poor passing decisions.

Gabby Williams has been forcing passes all season. Needs to keep it simple.

This Nevada team is competitive and well coached. I'm impressed.

I don't want to take anything away from Nevada, nor do I want to defend UConn's poor 2nd half play, but man these refs are terrible. I'm getting flashbacks from the Big East when ND had the deck stacked with the one-sided officiating.

I read comments from their coach and it sounded like they are trying to play a lot like UConn on offense. They've been beating Dangerfield all night when she goes under screens. I also saw a nice backdoor play.

Williams 4th foul (offensive) was called with the defender having one foot clearly inside the arc.

Nurse now 7-7 from 3.

I hate refs who decide to even things up in a blowout with uneven calls.

Nurse now 8-8

I thought it was nearly impossible to make ESPN'S coverage of WCBB look good, but CBS's team of Julianne Viani doing the game and Swin Cash at halftime has succeeded.

They both need to find other careers.

I don't really have a problem with Viani. Swin (meh) but she has at least modulated her voice so it doesn't sound so harsh/squeaky/whiny. Still I could do without listening to her.

Both are non-stop inanities and statements of the obvious being passed off as insight.

Lots of empty words and very little information. ESPN's people all sound like Bobby Knight in comparison.

There's an active shooter in downtown Reno right now (after the game ended.)

7800 paid tonight to see what some call an unwatchable game. And the tickets weren't $2.

UConn continues to lead the country in road attendance.

After 16 games in Las Vegas with a total attendance of about 2500, it was nice to see people turn out for a women's basketball game in Nevada. 7,815 was the announced attendance, a record for a women's game in the state.

UConn was horrible after the first several minutes when they ran out to a 25-5 lead. I disagree with the posters who complained about the refs; UConn was very uncharacteristically reaching and were slow to get into position. Whether they got tired because of the altitude or bored because of the competition, they played Nevada even for 30 minutes before putting on a spurt at the end of the game to win by 31.

The worst aspect of the Huskies play was their interior defense. Nevada had a dozen offensive rebounds and numerous uncontested layups. I don't think this necessarily portends anything too bad for them because they have so much talent they can sleepwalk through all but a handful of games and this effort will give Geno some great film to motivate his players. But I wish I had had the opportunity to see them play up to their potential.

It was a great night for Gabby Williams, Reed High School Graduate, and for Nevada women's basketball.
