Xavier ended Q1 on an 8-0 run and leads 22-16.

Good to see Minnesota is actually trying on defense this season. Not sure how the man-to-man will translate to B1G play but at least they're pressuring the ball and not sitting in that silly zone.

40-32 XAV at the half
First time not leading at the half for Gophers this season.

5-0 for the first time in 10 years. Go Gophers.

I don't know what to think, because for whatever reason the Gophers' non-conference schedule is soft without any quality opponents, but at least they aren't losing to teams that they should beat.

Xavier was 3-0 prior to this game. Xavier beat a quality opponent in New Hampshire, who I believe won their conference last year.

Schedule gets tougher now. A neutral site game against Wake Forest followed by a neutral site game against Hofstra or an away game at UNLV (host of Lady Rebel Round-Up holiday tournament).

I think the Gophers have to shoot better than 40% to beat Wake.
What I don't like about the Gophers is the 4 guard system, but Pitts has done well as a 4 against mid-major competition. We'll see how that goes against better teams.

What I do like about the Gophers is they have enough depth to keep coming at you pretty relentlessly even if they're not shooting well (and missing layups), they can wear a team down.
