Now this season might bear out your prediction, but until they fail I will continue to expect them to overachieve in respect to their talent level.

Putting aside the "overachieve/underachieve" semantics for the moment, I definitely agree with you that Rueck's an amazing coach, and I expect his team to once again do very well this season.

I watched the Tex exh. vs Ok City and find their #2 rank unwarranted.

I watched a large chunk of it also. I was underwhelmed.

But if we are underwhelmed by EVERYBODY then it becomes the best of the worst ...or something like that. Smile

That ranking is factored in thinking Joyner Holmes would play the 1st half. With her they are legit #2 without her im not so sure. 1 game is hard to judge so lets let them get a few games under there belt. UCONN looked good against ashland though , but have not seen enough from other teams to decide if there the clear #1 most likely they are. They're size is unbelievable for a college team.

All the size that has gone to Texas & Baylor lately confirms the belief that in Texas, bigger is better. It must have killed them when Alaska became a state. Very Happy

He thinks they are so good they can split their roster and play in two different regionals. Laughing ----- Perhaps the other Oregon could field two teams.

Perhaps the pollsters only saw the first half of their game against Ohio and only the second half of the one against UConn. Rolling Eyes

For those that are interested, here is the link to see where the individual voters voted. So if you are wondering why Florida is #29, it is because Kevin Tresolini put them #17 in this week's rankings. No one else had the Gators in the Top 25.

I really don't think Tara gives a flying flock about the rankings. Laughing

Two things are both true:

1. Rankings don't mean anything.

2. It is better to be ranked higher than lower.

Hard to come back from 0 and 2 but also hard to start your season on the road like that.

He had Florida at #18 to begin the year...again, the only person to even have them in their Top 25. Evidently the 82-66 home victory over Georgia State was enough to bump them up a spot.

So are you implying that Tara doesn't belong to the Mile High Club?

Maybe the Gators loss to Arkansas St. will change his mind.

So Baylor only drops to 8? I have to assume none of these voters actually watched the game. They didn't look that good to me.

Name and reputation drives so much of the voting.

They were without one of their best players and without their coach. That’s why they didn’t drop too much. 8 seems about right to me.

Did all their guards stay home? Because if not the things you cited had zero to do with where they should be ranked.

If you watched the game, their shortcomings are obvious and not temporary.
