It would be interesting to see JMU play Belmont. Maybe Coach O can arrange something next year. JMU loses only 2 reserves, although Tasia Butler is a strong presence in the paint and Hailee Barron shoots good 3s (when she's on) and gains Jackie Benitez, who shot the lights out at Siena (and hopefully recovers quickly from whatever happened to her knee--they're not very forthcoming), and Deb Ferguson, an *imposing* presence in the paint who has struggled with medical issues this year, along with 3 newbies.

Last week Mercer was on nine ballots. Now they're on 23. Lots of group think among the pollsters.

Mercer ranks higher than Belmont in my eye test.

Mercer more athletic.
Belmont more organized.
I would love to see them play each other. But you're probably right that Mercer would beat Belmont.

This is why we need that mid-major tournament someone suggested last week. Wouldn't you rather see Mercer and Belmont play each other than have them each get annihilated by UConn or Louisville in the NCAAT first round?

If we get a #16 seed I will be highly annoyed

I see Mercer as an 11, but since they are in both polls I could see them moved up to a 9 or 10.

To me, the committee should work on a true S-curve with the top 16 teams. So, IMO, the brackets should look like this.

Albany: UCONN/Texas
Lexington: Louisvlle/South Carolina
Kansas City: MSU/Oregon
Spokane: Notre Dame/Baylor

Now, I understand that it’s not going to work out like this, but I could also see the committee sending MSU to Spokane and being the 4th overall #1 seed to keep Oregon on the West Coast.

As we've covered in the past, no ranked team has ever been seeded lower than a #12

Final poll is out.

No changes from last week.

Dayton has no votes.

I am outraged that a top-9 seed isn't getting even homer/ignorant votes from the pollsters!

Also, as of right now, I'd think DePaul is one of the Top 25 teams in the country, but maybe that's just me. Twisted Evil

Dayton shouldn't even be in the tournament. Why should they get votes in the poll? Evil or Very Mad Tell me some reason they should be in the tournament and why they should get votes.
DePaul - I agree with you.

My first sentecne was sacrasm, my second wasn't. I should've used a Very Happy with the first Smile.
