Week 14 proved only slightly less challenging than Week 13, with an average of just 10.2. Even accounting for Adamj's late entry the percentage of games picked correctly was only 52.6%. Once again top honors go to Summertime Blues who managed to correctly pick 14 of the 20 games, the first solo win but the fifth in 10 weeks of playing. There are 2 weeks left and I'm rooting for Howee to at least tie for the top spot once as he is the only player who as yet to do so. Good news, Howee was 5 for 5 today, tied with Myrtle for top spot (I think she copied off you).

Week 14 Standings

1) Summertime 14
2) Dinkytown 12
3) Myrtle 11
3) Howee 11
5) Pilight 10
5) Lynx 10
7) Calbearman 9
8) Pureform 8
9) Adamj 7 (out of 15)

Standings Through 14 Weeks

Rank-Name-Score-Wks-Average

1) Calbearman --175 14 12.5

6) Pureform------ 155 14 11.1
7) Howee -------- 153 14 10.9

This is not Good news, it's OLD news. Myrtlicious has done this repetitively: spots the winners I pick, but then, if she has to, goes in and changes her pick during the 4th quarter, should the winner picked bomb out. The worst part is, she never alerts me to the 'necessary edit'. She's very focused on looking better than me. Which is doubly ironic, as I've passing along endless beauty and makeup tips to her ever since she was an old lady. Sad really. But I don't complain.

(WAIT.....I WENT 5 FOR FIVE!!?) Thanks, Myrtle!!

Well, for at least one week, I thought I'd go with (what I thought) was yer 'formula'....the Home Cookin' theory. Fell. Flat.

Hmmm. If *I* can't get it outta ya, then Myrtle can. And she blabs.

We have come to the final week of the season. With my picks the last few week being so bad (17 of 40) I considered throwing in some games like Detroit at Green Bay. But with the limited schedule to pick from after Sunday I decided to play it straight up while trying to pick games with some meaning.

Marquette @ St John's
Missouri @ Texas A&M
Oregon St @ Arizona St
Virginia Tech @ Miami (Fla)
South Carolina @ Tennessee
Houston @ Cincinnati
Wichita St @ Tulsa
Radford @ High Point
UNLV @ Nevada
Ball St @ Central Michigan
Akron @ Bowling Green
Miami (O) @ Ohio
American @ Navy
UC Santa Barbara @ Hawaii
Hampton @ Norfolk St
Prairie View @ Alcorn St
Drexel @ Delaware

Week 15 is in the books. Congratulations to Pilight and Myrtle for sharing top honors with 14 out of 20. Pilight actually had 14 of the first 16 correct but missed all 4 games today to allow Myrtle to tie. With the big move both of this week's winners are only 1 game out of second place. Because I will be up in Seattle for the Pac 12 Tourney next week, I will probably not be as prompt in posting the final standings.

1) Pilight 14
1) Myrtle 14
3) Calbearman 12
4) Howee 11

Are you still doing the tourney competition, and doesn't that have to be part of the final standings? I may need those extra games to overtake Myrtlicious. Cool

The tournament competitions will be separate. Since I picked this up midseason I am running it according to the original rules which called for the game to end this coming week. You should see this as a good thing because you will be able to start over all square with everyone (including the Myrtlemeister who you are 14 behind.) I also decided to not include the Big East based on your recommendation. The rules for the Major conference tournament competition will be posted later tonight and the brackets will be posted as released. I believe all will be available Sunday night except the Big 12, which won't be available until Tuesday. The All Tournament pick the winners contest is already up, but I will be waiting to put in my picks until I know the seeds in each tournament.

Razz Razz Razz Razz Razz Razz Razz Razz Razz Razz There ya go.

(I just realized that Madamoiselle Myrtle has had ONE ENTIRE MORE WEEK than me in this game. That accounts for her (nearly) insurmountable lead. I feel so much more--VINDICATED!--now.) Razz

Thank you for catching my mistake. Using cut and paste I probably catch 5 mistakes each week, and there almost always a few more that slip through.

And isn't it sad that you probably wouldn't catch her even if YOU had an extra week.

How much, actually, does Myrtle PAY you to offer up these lame excuses? "Cut and Paste" does not change number of weeks. I have no doubt there'll be a significant exchange between you both when you 2 COLLABORA....errr....MEET at the PAC 12 tourney, both in remuneration/favors, and on new ways to shamelessly promote Murdle's career in Sports Prognostication.

Clearly, I am doomed beyond hope. But I'm still thinking about getting Robert Mueller involved in this affair. Nunes' memo will look like a comic book compared to the one I'm preparing to bust open this blatant conspiracy.
