The return of the Tipping Tournament for NCAAW is coming back with a proposed twist! I'm going to be giving individuals the opportunity to sign up to "manage" a certain number of games. This way, the counting of the results and posting the standings doesn't always fall to one individual. For example, Week 1, Cardinal will pick the games for everyone else to pick and then tabulate the results. Then in Week Two, the responsibility will fall to Myrtle (an example). Honestly, by the end of last season, I became incredibly jaded with the number of things that I was trying to be involved with, and things just became less fun as I fell behind on managing. I was too embarrassed to admit that I just couldn't handle it all. I'm happy to run a majority of this, but some weeks off would be REALLY welcome. This should give some people the ability to pick some matches that others might not have considered important. I think that we should certainly put a limit to the number of games to be picked in any given week to a maximum of 20--but a minimum of 10. Cardinal may make exceptions to this rule over Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Years, and other busy weeks. I'll be travelling December 24th-December 31st and hightailing it off to the beautiful highlands of Scotland--so I will definitely need some help around that time period.
Rules for Posting Games: Please post games for the next week AFTER the first game is played in the following week. For example, Week 2's games should be posted after November 10th, but before November 14th. (4 days for people to make picks.) This should help the results tabulators move through the matches easily.
Week 1: November 10-November 18th (Through Saturday). Host: Cardinal
Week 2: November 19th-November 25th. Host: Cardinal
Week 3: November 26th-December 2nd. Host: TBD
Week 4: December 3rd-9th. Host:
Week 5: December 10th-16th Host:
Week 6: December 17th-23rd Host:
Week 7: December 24th-30th Host: NEEDED. (Cardinal travels.)
Week 8: December 31st-January 6 Host: NEEDED. (Cardinal travels.)
Week 9: January 7th-13th
Week 10: January 14th-20th
Week 11: January 21st-27th
Week 12: January 28th-February 3rd
Week 13: February 4th-10th
Week 14: February 11-17th
Week 15: February 18th-24th
Week 16: February 25-March 4th
The rules of the game are simple, for each game I select during the week, you pick which team you think is going to win. For each correct pick, you receive one point. Whoever has the most points at the end of the week's slate of games is the winner.

I would be willing to host sometime but not anytime in November. Jury duty will be consuming way more time than I have. Even though I likely won't actually be on a jury I still have to go waste my time at the courthouse. And then try to make up for the time lost...

Let's just say the first week of games is a DOOZY. Things I've noticed:
1A) Why the heck is Kentucky travelling to MISSOULA? Kudos to them though.
1B) Montana has a more exciting OOC Schedule than Colorado. (Wyoming, Gonzaga, Marquette, Kentucky and heck, that Beach team that almost beat Oregon State). Maybe I should move to Mizzoula.
2) I should definitely NOT put UConn-Stanford on the tipping right? I'll be the only impossible homer to pick Stanford, and essentially be handicapping myself.
3) All schedulers should note that Cardinal does not leave work until 5 MST. How rude of you to schedule games involving the Cardinal beginning at 4pm on a Friday? I guess I'll have to watch Vanderbilt play Middle Tennessee instead and look on as a terrible Stanford supporter.
4) I'm far too enamored with the mid-majors. South Dakota in particular. I think they'll be darn good, but heck, Iowa State is too much of an ask, right? RIGHT? I'm not crazy I promise.
5) Return of Hudson, Moore, and Breen + Loss of Morrissete = Central Michigan beats Purdue?
6) CViv scheduled pretty darn tough. JMU and Temple (Before Butts got hurt), to go with Charlotte, NC State, South Carolina, Virginia, Seton Hall and Princeton. Easiest games for Rutgers? Siena, FDU, and Wake Forest before hitting the BIG Grind.
7) Poor Darby Maggard. She has to kick off the post-Lindy La Rocque era with a visit to Oklahoma. Belmont better find a way to give Oklahoma a moving net.
St. Mary's has beaten Cal 2 of the last 3 years. This means they win again, due to law of averages, right?
9) No, Cardinal, NO. Yes, Northern Colorado did win the Big Sky. That does NOT put them on the same level as Depaul. Stop thinking crazy.
10) Who has the toughest opening week (Outside of Stanford). Green Bay plays Charlotte, Wisconsin and South Dakota State. JMU has Rutgers and Tennessee (whew, old powers.) Vanderbilt opens with Middle Tennessee and Central Michigan. Western Kentucky's first four games: Mizzou, Notre Dame, Indiana, Mercer.
11) Cardinal has way too much time on his hands tonight after people stuck needles into his head today. I'm anxious for this season to being.
