Iowa is having their own media day today. Tania Davis, junior point guard, whose last season ended in mid conference due to ACL injury is due back at the start of the season.

Coaches & Media will regret not listing Tyler Scaife..She might possibly be the best player in the B1G and yes including Kelsey mitchell

Next year B1G conference will go to 18 league games up from 16 (the men are going up to 20 games from 18 ). Iowa Coach Lisa Bluder was asked about this and she feels that it will help with B1G RPI as she feels certain coaches are scheduling cupcakes (she didn't mention names, however), Embarassed

so there's a reason they're not listing the teams below #3??

Historically, the B1G preseason polls include only the top 3 teams.

I guess they don't want the teams at the bottom to 'feel' bad.

Sad to say, but Maryland will NOT be a top 3 B1G team this year.

Not sure why they are ranked so high, but this is not your usual Terps team. They are small, not overly athletic and lacking in experience and leadership. A top half of the conference finish would be a good accomplishment IMO.

Anybody who has them ranked nationally (top 25) or near top of the conference will shed that opinion on Monday night.

Fortunately, they have a strong recruiting class next year, which should help Coach B get the Terps headed back in the right direction.

Any 2nd thoughts on that opinion? I think they learned a big lesson in that game.

Maryland doesn't look as good as Ohio St., but I'm not sure anyone else is better in the Big 10. The two teams that have impressed in the opening weekend are Rutgers (road wins over JMU and Temple) and Iowa (home wins over Quinnipiac and Western Kentucky). I could see those 4, the Michigan schools and Purdue all making the NCAA, but 6 teams is more likely than 7. It should be a good year.
