Lynx guard Danielle Robinson's injury has playoff implications

Quote:
The high ankle sprain point guard Danielle Robinson suffered in the Lynx’s victory Thursday at Las Vegas might not heal in time for the postseason, which could force the Lynx to make a personnel move when setting the playoff roster.

The team will have a decision to make when setting the playoff roster, which cannot be changed after it is submitted to the league. If there is confidence Robinson could return during the postseason, they could keep her on the roster. Or they could sign a free-agent backup point guard.

Sucks for DRob. Though not surprised when I saw Colson walking around last night. Interested to see if anything happens.

They have Whalen, Wright and Jones at PG. Do they just stick with 11 for the playoffs?

Are there different rules for playoffs than the regular season? I don’t get how the Lynx can make any further moves if their cap is full.

They can’t make any trades, because the trade deadline is past. All the current contracts are guaranteed and they presumably have no cap left with the brilliant signing of Miyem.

I don’t like the desperation Reeve is revealing. A desperate-feeling Reeve (2012 Finals) does not bode well. Even if they’re able to add a player now, the odds that player can help you any better than what you have now with everybody used to playing with each other is minuscule.

These are the players that Reeve the GM gave Reeve the coach to work with. She got what she wanted, now show some confidence in these players. This has always been a weak part of Reeve’s coaching game. Overthinking and no confidence in the bench.

I think Minnesota stands pat with who they have. If they make it, Robinson should be available for the 2nd round depending on how bad it is.

And if they signed someone on short-notice, Reeve wouldn't play them anyway. TWright, then Whalen, then Jones, then Augustus, then Moore would be the point guard options. So what's the point?

Robinson had surgery on her ankle today, so she'll be out for a while

Time for Alexis Jones to step up this year (or she'll be stepping out next year).

What’s the nature of the surgery?

Okay, that clears roster space, but did they actually leave enough cap space to hire somebody for up to a couple of weeks?

Wagner would be a feel good story, but I doubt Reeve is interested in that.

I’ll give Reeve props if she is slick enough to sign Musina, the most intriguing prospect who was never given a chance. Doubt she’s in WNBA shape or would contribute any more than Zandalasini did last year, but at least they could lock up her rights unless there’s a loophole against that.

Could Anna Cruz be waiting in the Wings? Hopefully it’s not that French PG draft pick. Baric? Ish.

Schimmel? Reeve liked her during her draft year. Those feelings have probably faded, but if Reeve is looking for three point shooting magic in a bottle, Schimmel might be the one to supply it. She loves the big moments.

I was surprised Colson was cut this year, so I’ll ad her as somebody who might actually be able to help the team.

I used to push for Chelsea Hopkins because she was the Westbrook of overseas ball, but I haven’t been feeling her lately.

Maybe I’ll think of more later if they haven’t announced a new signing soon.

It’s appropriate now. Stop keeping secrets. This is supposed to be a real sport with real information divulged.

Boo-yah! Thanks for keeping it a secret long enough for me to get my ideas out there. Smile

WHERE Is Candice Wiggins? Her energy off the bench was fantastic.
She averaged double digit points as a member of the Lynx.

She gave an interview last year where she said that she was bullied her whole WNBA career for being straight. It didn’t go over well and people were especially outraged that she estimated the lesbian percentage of the WNBA at 98%. It’s probably the reason she was left off.

They set aside the dartboard for this one and got it right! Shocked

Terrible job by the Lynx or whoever created the top 20 list...Wiggins should definitely be on the list...Whoever made the list is just being petty.
