Anosike did make All Star, surprisingly enough, but I think I’d replace her with Charde Houston. Anosike didn’t stick around for a championship.

Buescher played about five minutes in Minnesota. If you're putting her in then Sugar Rodgers might as well make the list.

Honestly the last four were names that I happened to remember played for the Lynx. I could have added Shona Thorburn.

I’m not sure if ranking teammates is a good idea for promoting that team-first mentality.

The only purpose I find of ranking players is to generate traffic caused by those who are outraged Player X is ranked ahead of Player Y and so forth, and must voice their grievances on social media and message boards!
Plus all of my oil for my torch is saved up for the WNBA Draft, and in case the University of Minnesota botches hiring a new coach again. Very Happy

Yikes! Bringing back painful memories.

Noelle Quinn reached the Lynx single season assist record taking over PG duties from an injured Lindsey Harding, and her trade brought us a juicy pick. I’d say she deserves recognition as Top 20.

I know you’re the mannman with the Rachel Jarry avatar, but there’s gotta be a way to work Mann off the list. She represented the painful years for me, along with Thorburn, Megan Duffy, and others of that ilk.

There are probably a few more notable players from the very early years that won’t occur to me. Love Dantas but we only had her 1.5 years and denied her a championship. Liston lasted two years and earned a championship. Hornbuckle might get a look.

I think I’d list the Top in order of seniority except Maya #1, but that’s me. I could see the Lynx org going strictly in order of Lynx seniority.

1. Moore
2. Augustus
3. Whalen
4. Brunson
5. Fowles

Now at #6 do you acknowledge the first great Lynx player, or one of the starting centers from the championship years? Maybe Katie Smith and then those centers since they both had short stints.

6. Katie Smith
7. Taj McWilliams Franklin
8. Janel McCarville

Best 6th men?
9. Monica Wright
10. Candice Wiggins
11. Renee Montgomery

Whalen to coach Minnesota

Quote:
As part of Whalen's agreement to become head coach, which is pending approval from the University's Board of Regents, she will play continue to play for the Minnesota Lynx

So proud of Lindsay. If anyone can get local players to want to play the for U, it's her.

I can see Jill Barta making the team over Miyem or Fagbenle.

PG: Whalen/Robinson
SG: Augustus/Wright/Jones
SF: Moore/Zandalasini
PF: Brunson/Kizer/Barta
C: Fowles/Fagbenle

They could go this route with Moore backing up the PF’s

Whalen/Robinson/Jones
Augustus/Wright/Wagner
Moore/Zandalasini
Brunson/Kizer
Fowles/Fagbenle

I guess it comes down to who steps up in camp.

I could see Whalen taking a bunch of days off to take care of Gopher business whenever needed.

So the Lynx turned the 12th pick(Marie Gulich),24th pick (Kahlia Lawrence)and Natasha Howard into D-Rob, Jill Barta, 2019 storm first round pick and 2019 aces second round pick.. hmmmm I guess it will be good if the first round pick ends up being around 3rd-8th and second round pick 13-16 if that happens, that's not a bad haul at all. The 2019 draft should be good.

It’s a swap of first round picks.

Top 20 … for me would be based on not just talent but also contribution & significant to the franchise. For those of us around since the beginning, we know it wasn’t all bad prior to 2011. Actually had lots of fun back in the day, so ignoring the history of the team is a sad thing IMO.

This team has been around 20yrs so my question is who exactly is doing this ranking? Who made up the committee? I think you can count on one hand anyone who has been in that front office beyond 10 yrs so I’m not too hopeful they will do justice to the early years of the franchise.
But anyway my rank would be something like …

Katie Smith
Seimone Augustus
Maya Moore
Lindsay Whalen
Rebekkah Brunson
Taj McWilliams-Franklin
Sylvia Fowles

Betty Lennox
Tamika Williams
Theresa Edwards
Monica Wright
Svetlana Abrosimova

Tonya Edward – Lynx 1st WNBA All-Star
Candice Wiggins
Nicole Ohlde
Andrea Lloyd – Lynx 1st best center-bad knees did her in but savvy vet like the Libs Sue Wicks, ‘Stix Vicki Bullet-past her prime but was the post anchor on D, could shot the 3
Devereaux Peters
Renee Montgomery
Charde Houston
Nicky Anosike

Honorable Mention: Kristen Folkl – more as a figure head as 1st player allocated to the Lynx

If you’d rather have Anosike on the list over the starting center on the 2013 championship team, I have no words. Confused Anosike was a big pita.

Katie Smith shouldn’t be #1 over championship winning players.

With Swanson there they're not going to be ignoring anyone from the early years if the numbers are there to back them up.

Seimone Augustus (Nobody has done more for the Lynx than ‘Mone)
Lindsay Whalen
Katie Smith
Maya Moore
Rebekkah Brunson
Taj McWilliams-Franklin
Sylvia Fowles
B-Money
Tamika Williams
Svetlana Abrosimova
Theresa Edwards
Monica Wright
Tonya Edward
Candice Wiggins
Renee Montgomery
Nicole Ohlde
Andrea Lloyd
Charde Houston
J-Mac
And my sentimental nonesense pick: Vanessa “Big V” Hayden. She wasn’t any kind of force on the court, but she was great to fans.

Yeah, it was weird timing but I guess the Lynx promo department was so bored with the Lynx’s boring draft that they wanted to spice things up with a promo surrounding the Lynx 20th anniversary.

It is pretty funny! Laughing The Lynx are at that weird spot where you know the best is winding down quickly. Whalen, Augustus, and Brunson are all closing in on retirement. Maybe Big Syl, too, as posts take a beating. Maya is still in her prime but we all know a rebuild is coming.

I just hope Reeve sticks around to coach some draft picks when the time comes.

It kind of feels like a huge milestone is coming in the WNBA. Whalen, Augustus, Taurasi, Brunson, Bird, Catchings, Fowles, and Parker will ALL be gone soon, probably. It is hard for me to imagine the league without any of these players! It’s like when Magic, Bird, Jordan, Jabbar and that bunch of greats left the NBA. It felt weird for awhile.
